Cheer Tumble

Our Cheer Tumble class is designed for students who want to strengthen their tumbling skills to take back to their cheer teams and prepare for future cheerleading opportunities. Athletes will focus on proper technique, strength, flexibility, and progressions for skills commonly used in cheer, with an emphasis on safety and confidence. This class is especially beneficial for dancers and athletes who plan to audition for their school cheer team.

Acro/Tumble

Our Acro/Tumble class combines the beauty and execution of dance with the strength and flexibility of gymnastics. Dancers will do conditioning exercises to build strength, and stretching exercises to increase flexibility. They will then learn different tricks and movements such as back bends, back walk overs, cartwheel variations, and partnered tumbling tricks.

Musical Theatre

Musical theatre combines classic jazz steps with a unique stage presence. It is centered around Broadway style of dance and music. Students will learn how to lip sync and connect with the audience, all while dancing across the stage. Class will begin with an aerobic warm up, move on to across the floor exercise and combinations, they will sometimes do some acting exercises, and will culminate in learning a combination.

HipHop

Hip hop is a style of street dancing that has a rich history. This dance style is typically done to hiphop or pop songs and focuses on isolations, feet work, popping, locking, freestyle and so much more. Our hiphop class curriculum includes a combination of different styles of street dance, lyrical hiphop, break dance, tumbling, jazz funk, and Commercial hiphop. Hiphop classes will start with a warm up and strengthening exercises, then isolation exercises, students will then do moving combinations and exercises across the floor, they will work on partnering and tumbling moves, and the class will conclude with learning a center floor combination.

Clogging

Clogging is folk dance style and historically is set to bluegrass music. It is similar to tap in that it is done primarily with the feet while wearing special shoes with taps on the toe and heel. However, unlike tap, it focuses on the down beat and uses the heel to keep rhythm. The shoes have two pairs of taps on the toe and heel. The class will focus on rhythm, musicality and timing. Classes will start with a center floor warm up, learn clogging steps and terminology, do traveling steps across the floor, and learn center floor combinations.

Tap

Tap dancing is a style that focuses on the rhythmic combinations of sound made by special shoes that have metal ‘taps’ on the toe and heel. Dancer will tap and stomp their feet on the ground to make these music combinations. Tap class will focus on rhythm, musicality and timing. Classes will start with a center floor warm up, learn tap steps and terminology, traveling steps across the floor, and learn center floor combinations.

Jazz

Jazz is a derivative of ballet and uses all of the foundational techniques taught in ballet class. When a student is enrolled in ballet/jazz they will study ballet one week and jazz the next to ensure they are learning the ballet technique needed to execute Jazz properly. Jazz features high energy movements and expressive dancing. The style is typically turned in, unlike ballet, and typically uses isolations and impactful leaps and turns. Jazz classes will start center floor with a warm up and isolations, move on to center floor exercises, then students will do leaps/turns/combinations across the floor, they will come center to work on a combination and then the class will come to an end with a stretching and cool down session.

Pointe

Pointe class is the part of classical ballet technique that concerns pointe work, in which a ballet dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet. Pointe work is performed while wearing pointe shoes. Pointe class requires a lot of focus, concentration, and strengthening. Students must be 13 to dance en pointe, be enrolled in ballet, and must pass all strength and readiness tests. Dancers taking pointe must also take an additional hour of ballet class.

Ballet

Ballet classes are the foundation for dance training and focus on developing a solid ballet technique with emphasis on understanding correct body placement, proper use of turn out, coordination of the upper body (epaulement), and use of arms (port de bras). Class begins with a center/barre warm up, exercises at the barre to build strength and coordination, center exercises, a grand allegro combination or variation, and finishing with a center floor stretching and reverence. Throughout the season dancers will be introduced to ballet terminology, definitions, and history to increase dancers technical understanding and create a well rounded dancer.

Dance With Me

Guardians accompany their dancers in this class! Dancers will be introduced to a classroom setting, work on following instructions, and learn to copy the instructor. Dancers will be taught basic steps and movements like stomps, kicks, clapping ect. They will learn to follow basic steps in an order with sing-along songs and other combinations, and have a basic introduction to various instruments. Guardians will help assist in guiding and helping their dancer follow along throughout the class. It’s a great course to allow young dancers socialize and get familiar with the studio.
