Body High Pole Dance, located in Arcata, California, offers a dynamic and empowering dance and fitness experience designed for individuals of all ages, shapes, and genders. Founded five years ago by co-owner Natalie Abeja, a dancer with a decade of experience, the studio was established with the vision of creating a supportive space for sensual expression, body awareness, and self-empowerment. Co-owner Naomi Leitu, a lifelong athlete who discovered pole dancing in her early twenties, views it as both a sport and an art form, appreciating its versatility and confidence-building nature. Body High Pole Dance features a diverse range of classes, with a strong emphasis on pole dancing, including Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Pole Tricks, Intro to Exotic, and Sensual Pole. Complementing these, the studio offers a variety of off-the-pole training such as Twerk, Sexi Flexi, Splits and Flexibility, and dedicated Floor Work. For a well-rounded approach to movement, foundational styles like Ballet and Hip Hop are also available, alongside invigorating Zumba and Barre classes. The studio is dedicated to making dance accessible and enjoyable, fostering a body-positive atmosphere where clients can explore their inner beauty and strength. Classes

Floor Work

All levels Floor work is both technical and sensual, and part of every pole practice. Build your grace, allure, and dance vocabulary as you learn to seduce from the floor. This is also great for core, flexibility, and transitions. Knee high socks and knee pads recommended.

Splits and Flexibility

All levels A combo of yoga and deep stretches on and off the pole to help improve splits, backbends, and overall flexibility.

Sexi Flexi

All levels Build your flexibility and floorwork at the same time! Expect to condition and stretch, as well as learn sexy combos that are perfect for any pole routine. Most of the class will be done on the floor without yoga mats, so bring socks and kneepads.

Twerk

All levels Learn how to pop, clap, isolate, and tick tock in this fun, high energy class. This offers everything you need to be club-ready and is an amazing booty workout! To be easy on your knees, please bring your own thigh high socks and kneepads. We also offer these for sale at the studio.

Strength & Conditioning

Conditioning specifically for pole dancers and aerialists. Designed to build your core, prevent injury, and get you looking like the badass you are are. A fierce workout, with one of a kind training. A must for anyone serious about excelling in pole fitness.

Booty Boot Camp

Cardio pole and strength combine to give you an invigorating workout that will keep you coming back for more. Get your body in top pole shape by combining elements of strength training, pilates, and core work.

All levels. Designed to specifically expose you to new tricks and help you master your old tricks. There is a large focus on core, body mechanics, and technical detail. All levels welcomes, classes will be aimed to address the needs of the group.

Advanced Pole

This class is open to advanced students wanting to take their pole to the next level. Focus on more complicated holds, drops, and choreography.

Intermediate Pole

This class is open to anyone who can climb and invert comfortably.

Beginner Pole

Geared for first timers and more advanced students looking to brush up on the fundamentals. We recommend our first timers take this class for at least 6 classes until you feel comfortable with basic walks and spins.
