Spotlight Dance Academy, located in Bakersfield, California, is a vibrant performing arts institution dedicated to fostering artistic growth and making arts education accessible. Founded by Sharida Rejon in 2011 and later joined by Bertin Rodriguez in 2013, the academy has cultivated a supportive and inclusive environment for young aspiring artists. Spotlight Academy of the Arts, incorporated in 2021, offers high-quality training across diverse disciplines. Students can build a strong foundation in classical technique with Ballet classes, explore the energetic rhythms of Hip Hop, and develop essential skills in Tap. The curriculum also extends to comprehensive "Triple Threat" training, integrating singing, dancing, and acting to nurture well-rounded performers. Special programs include Show Choir, led by Oliver Love, which combines singing and dancing for upbeat musical numbers with a Hip Hop influence. The "Triple Threat Mentorship Program" offers teens direct guidance from professional performers in acting, singing, and dancing for real-world performance settings, enhancing their craft. The academy has also featured "Triple Threat" workshops focused on musical theater productions like Disney's Finding Nemo KIDS and The Little Mermaid. The dedicated faculty includes Directors Bertin Rodriguez and Sharida Rejon-Rodriguez, alongside talented teachers Maci Gholz, Jenny Rejon Sosa, Ashley Rejon Sosa, Elisa Rose Altamirano, and Oliver Love.
