About Na Haumana Inc

Na Haumana Inc, located in Marina, California, offers a vibrant cultural immersion in Pacific Island music and dance, alongside a diverse array of other movement disciplines. Founded in October 2018, the studio is dedicated to perpetuating the values of lifelong learning, community, and the spirit of aloha. Under the guidance of cultural and spiritual leaders Aunty Noe Noe Kekaualua-DeLeon and Uncle Earl DeLeon, Na Haumana Inc fosters a deep connection to Hawaiian culture. Led by Aunty Louella, with over 20 years of experience in hula and Tahitian dance, and supported by Alaka’i instructors Stephanie Baney and Katrina McKenzie, the studio provides a welcoming environment for learners of all ages, from Keiki (2-6 years) to adults. Curriculum emphasizes cultural awareness and education, honoring ancestral paths and diverse influences. Na Haumana Inc specializes in Hawaiian and Tahitian dance, with classes like Pikake for children under 12, 'Ilima for beginners, Maile for dancers 13 and over, and Lehua for intermediate to advanced students focusing on technique and choreography. Beyond dance, students can explore Tahitian drumming in Toa classes, from beginner beats to advanced House Drummers training for competitions, enriched by workshops with master drummer Uncle Olin Caban, artistic director of Te Otui Fenua. The studio also offers a broad spectrum of dance styles including Ballet, Breakdance, Contemporary, Flamenco, Hip Hop, Jazz, Salsa, Tap, and Zumba. Special programs include an annual 'Huaka'i' (journey) to sacred lands, and guest instructors like world-renowned dancer Kanani Asuega and drummer ‘Ofaloto Kumā enhance the learning experience. Na Haumana Inc is more than a studio; it's a growing ohana (family) committed to preserving cultural heritage.
