Keiki

Our keiki (children) class is for young, beginning students to introduce them to hula and Hawaiian culture! Keiki work on basic hula steps and technique, learn simple Hawaiian vocabulary, and develop skills to use implements (ipu, kālaʻau, etc). The keiki class is an excellent opportunity for kids to get exposure to a classroom environment, meet new friends, and build their confidence by performing on stage at multiple events around the Antelope Valley!

Our kaikamahine is for girls ages 9-12. The kaikamahine learns chants and dances that are more complicated than the keiki’s routines. They continue to build their basic hula technique and knowledge of Hawaiian culture and language.

Kāne

Our kāne class is for men and boys who want to perpetuate the art hula and oli! They learn hula basics and strong routines. They learn to kahea and chant in Hawaiian language.

Mondays 6:30pm
Makuahine

Our makuahine class is for beginner and intermediate women ages 50+. If you are a beginner we invite you to jump straight into makuahine class in addition to a private lesson with Kumu Kawai to build your basic hula skills and knowledge.

Opio

Our opio class is for intermediate young ladies. They learn more complex dances and chants. If you are a beginner we invite you to a private lesson with Kumu Kawai to build your basic hula skills and knowledge.

Wednesdays 6:30pm
Wahine

Our wahine class is for beginner and intermediate women. They learn more complex dances and chants. If you are a beginner we invite you to jump straight into wahine class in addition to a private lesson with Kumu Kawai to build your basic hula skills and knowledge.
