Refine your swimming skills with Coach Joe Baker! Using video feedback, each swimmer will be able to observe and correct their stroke during class. With a main emphasis on freestyle and side-breathing, this class will cover stroke technique and have you swimming with less effort and more skill. All abilities are welcome.

Ascension

Our elite junior tennis team. The Ascension Project improves our community and our world by developing athletes into leaders. We do this in a process-first environment that cultivates the values of goal setting, accountability, gratitude and commitment in the context of work ethic and trust in toil. This process is embodied in our motto “Strength Through Struggle.” By teaching individuals to thrive in a team culture, we prepare young men and women to succeed in any endeavor they undertake from college to the professional world and beyond.

Competitive Development +

Players in this level are committed, self-motivated, and actively competing in tournaments and match play. High intensity drills will improve match play strategy, mental skills, footwork, shot selection, tness and overall competitiveness. All players must be pre-approved by Head Tennis Pro, Steve Kinder, for this program.

Competitive Development

Advanced middle school players and intermediate high school players will learn the skills and tactical knowledge they need to become successful varsity high school platers. Drills, game scenarios and specific instruction suited to individual styles will be the basis of these energetic and focused sessions.

Emerging Strikers

Players will be instructed in all strokes using progressions equipment and specic “tennis vocabulary”. This method is designed to help make advanced tennis strokes easy to learn. Players will learn scoring and basic strategies of play so they can ,move from hitting a tennis ball to game play. This is an ideal class for those interested in playing junior high school tennis and/or tournaments.

Future Stars

Players will learn foundational tennis strokes through fun filled activities from enthusiastic instructors who are well versed in the modern game of tennis. Learning tennis specifics such as balance and hand eye coordination will establish correct patterns that will be helpful in tennis but also applicable to other sports.

Water Polo

This class is an introduction to the sport of water polo. Players will learn the basic rules, skills, and techniques of competitive water polo, with a focus on swimming, passing, and shooting. It’s a great way to get in shape and have a lot of fun! Classes take place in deep water—participants must be able to swim 25 yards on both their front and back to join.

Sun Oaks Swim Team

Level 4 is part of our swim team & welcome to participate in team events and meets!

Level 4 - Swim Team

Level 4: Ages 5-7 Passed Level 3 or can perform the following skills: has learned strokes and swims freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and dolphin for 15 yards. Session Focus: stroke technique for all 4 strokes, endurance and dives.

Level 3

Level 3: Ages 4-7 Passed Level 2 or can perform the following skills: comfortable swimming independently in deep water, can roll from front to back, swims freestyle, backstroke & dolphin for 10 yards. Session Focus: freestyle & side-breathing, backstroke, breaststroke, dolphin, endurance and dives.

Level 2

Level 2: Ages 3-6 Passed Level 1 or can perform the following skills: floats & kicks comfortably on front & back for 3 seconds unassisted. Session Focus: independent breaths in deep water, rolling from front to back, introduction to strokes if ready,deep water safety.

Level 1 Class

Level 1: Ages 2-5 Little or no experience. Session Focus: aquatic comfort, breath control, pulling, kicking, floating, gliding and water safety.

Parent & Tot

Parent Tot – Ages 6-36 months. No experience needed. All children must wear swim diapers. Session Focus: water acclimation, submersions, floating, kicking and water safety.

No-cost beginners clinics for members to learn how to play, get their steps in, and meet people that they can play the sports with.
