About Dance Training Center-The Ballet School of San Francisco

Dance Training Center-The Ballet School of San Francisco, located in San Francisco, California, offers a comprehensive year-round and summer program dedicated to nurturing dancers of all ages and levels. Founded in January 2014 by Julianne Spratlin, the school provides high-quality dance training within a supportive atmosphere, emphasizing both joy in movement and rigor in training. The program places a strong emphasis on classical ballet, with structured levels from introductory classes for young children (aged 4-7) to advanced pre-professional training. Students progress through carefully curated levels, building technique, coordination, and confidence. Advanced levels incorporate pointe work, variations, and rehearsals. The pre-professional track is designed for students aspiring to dance at the highest level, with alumni achieving success in professional companies and renowned institutions. The school also caters to adult dancers, from absolute beginners to those with professional-level experience, offering intermediate/advanced classes and welcoming motivated students. While Ballet is the core focus, summer programs may also integrate contemporary classes. Specialized offerings include Pas de Deux and a Boys Program, along with "Barre" for foundational conditioning. The faculty comprises accomplished dancers with extensive professional careers, including Artistic Director Julianne Spratlin, Acting Director Kristin Long, Associate Director Samantha Clark, and esteemed instructors like Julia Adam, Benjamin Warner, Kyla Marcus, Victoria Wright, Katie Choi, Terez Dean Orr, Henry Berg, Jennifer Polyocan, Joseph Walsh, and Lauren Strongin, many with performance backgrounds with renowned companies. Guest faculty also enrich the program with advanced adult ballet classes. Special programs include Advanced Summer Prep and Back to School Prep classes, designed for injury prevention, preparation for intensive study, and returning dancers in peak shape. The Rec Level is available for students balancing dance with other interests, requiring prior training equivalent to DTC Level 4.

Advanced Summer Prep
$595.00

Advanced Summer Prep was born out of Artistic Director Julianne Spratlin's experience as a trainer at Active Care Physical Therapy and her own summer dance experiences. Freedom to dance several hours per day for several weeks of the summer sounds like heaven to most ballet students! But those long hours can be challenging and lead to injury and frustration for the young dancer who is not prepared for such intensive study. ASP was developed to prevent injury and prepare more advanced students for their intensives, sending them off mentally and physically ready to make the most of their summer programs.
