Classes

Acro

All ACRO students start EVERY CLASS with Ms Marian’s structured WARM-UPs - a basic start for dancers of ALL ages. Warmups are followed by a structured tumbling and acrobatic techniques that get more difficult each week. The DG has mats, spring boards, trampolines, and silks to encourage a safe and exciting ACRO class. This class is a part of the DG’s graded system.

Tap

Tap (Int/Adv) with Mr. Welsh starts with basic warm-ups and moves into exercises that challenge dancers to expand their knowledge of Tap technique, with exercises including time steps and longer combinations. Dancers learn Broadway style choreography that gets more difficult each week in a fun and supportive environment.

Ballet + Pointe + Choreo

Ballet + Pointe + Choreo is designed for Advanced dancers with strong Ballet technique and any amount of experience en pointe. Ms. Nika guides dancers in developing their technique and artistry in a full ballet technique class. Dancers then learn both original choreography and repertoire from classical ballets. The class ends with pointework that gets progressively more difficult each week.

Dance 2

All Dance 2 students start EVERY CLASS with Ms Marian’s structured WARM-UPs - a basic start for dancers of ALL ages. Warmups are followed by a creative or structured activity; followed by choreography that gets more difficult each week. Students often present a short demonstration for their parents at the end of the hour class. The DG uses props, music, singing, celebratory dances, partner and group choreography, basic tumbling, costumes and makeup to support our graded system.

Dance 2 (Ballet+Contemporary)

All Dance 2 students start EVERY CLASS with Ms Marian’s structured WARM-UPs - a basic start for dancers of ALL ages. Warmups are followed by a creative or structured activity; followed by choreography that gets more difficult each week. Students often present a short demonstration for their parents at the end of the hour class. The DG uses props, music, singing, celebratory dances, partner and group choreography, basic tumbling, costumes and makeup to support our graded system.

Teen + Adult Program

Ballet 2 is a continuation of the study of classical ballet terminology and technique. With Ms. Nika's guidance, dancers learn proper alignment, develop strength, and cultivate their joy and passion for movement. Class comprises of warm-ups, barre, basic ballet combinations, and frequent in-class performances in costume.

PreK + K Dance

All PreK/K students start EVERY CLASS with Ms Marian’s structured WARM-UPs - a basic start for dancers of ALL ages. Warmups are followed by a creative or structured activity; followed by a short choreography that the students often present to their parents at the end of the hour class. PreK Dance

Contemporary

Contemporary is an intermediate/advanced level class for teens. Class starts with a warm-up, goes into technical exercises and ends with choreography and improvisation. Students will learn how technique and artistry work together to create movement, and how to approach choreography as an authentic and thoughtful artist. Dancers will also explore creating their own movement and sharing ideas.

Intermediate Dance (Ballet+Contemp+Choreo)

All Intermediate Dance students start EVERY CLASS with Ms Marian’s structured WARM-UPs - a basic start for dancers of ALL ages. The Dance 2 warmups are very challenging and demanding for the intermediate dancer with the objective to achieve an “ensemble” feeling. Warmups are followed by movements in Center, Across the Floor and basic Acro, followed by a choreography that gets more difficult each week including. The DG uses props, music, singing, celebratory dances, partner and group choreography, costumes and makeup to support our graded system.

Infant Toddler w/Caregiver

Movement is a human's first form of expression! Research shows that a child’s academic, self-esteem, cognitive, motor, and social developmental skills INCREASE when they participate in a performance-focused art form. And DANCE is the leader - especially for the learning child.

Intermediate and Advanced Dance+Choreo

Intermediate Dance is a geared towards Middle School students with some dance experience that desire a well-rounded dance education. The class is split into three blocks: Contemporary or Ballet, Tap, and Hip Hop, all with different teachers. Advanced Dance students are typically in Middle or High School and have strong dance experience. Advanced students study Contemporary or Ballet, Tap, and Choreography.
