Beginning Ballet

In Beginning Ballet, young dancers make mind/body connections that channel energy, promote creative expression, and build healthy fitness habits through classical technique, themed movement exploration, and contemporary dance. Dancers progress through a rigorous syllabus that builds skills and artistry over time.

Your First Class is Free

Students ages 3 – 18 (and adults) are invited to try a free class. Bring a friend and your friend’s first class is free also! Parents can tour our 6-studio facility, see our outdoor dance platform, peek at other classes, and ask any questions about our safety protocols. We want to help you get started.

Adult Ballet

A ballet workout to start the day! For dancers training to stay in shape and adults looking for a mindful workout take our morning Int/Advanced classes with Corinne Jonas, Charlie Martin, or Damon Mahoney. If you’re new to ballet, try our Beginning Adult Class with Laurie Klein on Monday and Wednesday at 6pm.

Advanced Ballet

Summer is the time to get back in shape! Experienced dancers ages 14 – 18 train multiple days per week within a multi-age setting. Classes include technique, pointe, contemporary, and select strength and stretch infusions. Dancers and families are invited to join in our Culture & Community offerings as part of tuition in MB’s Classical Ballet Program.

Intermediate Ballet

Dancers ages 10 to 13 train in like age groups as they transition to pointe work and advance through the ballet syllabus. Classes include technique, pointe, contemporary, and strength/stretch/pilates infusions. Voluntary Culture & Community classes are included in the Intermediate Ballet Program providing students with mentors, social connection, and healthy fun (families are invited to participate too!).

Levels 1-4

The beginning ballet syllabus starts with young dancers with little or no dance experience and continues through pre-pointe. Girls and boys ages 7 to 10 are grouped by grade level. MB’s Culture & Community classes and gatherings are included in the Beginning Ballet Program with both students and their families invited to join in and stay connected.

Ballet Prep

Introductory Ballet Prep is for girls and boys enrolled in Kindergarten – 1st grade. Classes are based on the fundamentals of dance, music, and energetic bodies and imaginations. Creative Movement Exploration

A weekly 45-to-60-minute class safely engages little bodies ages 3 -4 in creative movement and exploration.

Ballet Prep

Introductory Ballet Prep is for girls and boys enrolled in Kindergarten – 1st grade. Classes are based on the fundamentals of dance, music, and energetic bodies and imaginations. PLUS…MB’s seasonal Culture & Community Classes are included in MB’s Ballet Program tuition (for student families too!)

Advanced Ballet - Level 9

LEVEL 9 culminates Marin Ballet’s training program with a classical and contemporary syllabus that becomes more individual based on the skills, artistry, and goals of each student. Marin Ballet’s faculty supports each dancers’ relationship with dance as they continue to train and transition through high school. Training at our advanced level focuses on refinement of technique, development of individual artistry through both classical ballet and contemporary work, and healthy ballet fitness.

Training at our advanced level focuses on refinement of technique, development of individual artistry through both classical ballet and contemporary work, and healthy ballet fitness. We train-to-performance and are pleased to offer our annual Nutcracker in December and our Spring Concert in March. Dancers in Levels 8 and 9 collaborate with visiting choreographers and work in multi-age groups to support one another in voluntary student projects of original choreography.

This class is designed to incorporate both beginning and intermediate ballet foundations for adults. No previous ballet training is needed to join the class. Learn the basics and work at your own pace to enjoy a healthy workout. Class meets Monday and Wednesday from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. With a class card, classes are $22 each. Individual class purchases are $25.

In our class for first graders, we introduce new and more challenging exercises and skills, building on what students have learned in Ballet Prep 1. Students will learn new stretches, folk dances, combinations, and step variations as they grow in strength and coordination. Skills are fine-tuned to prepare them for Level 1 in our Primary Division the following year. Students must be 6 years old by September 1st of current school year and in 1st grade.

“Beautiful Earth” Dance Camp

Kids ages 3 – 8, will explore our Beautiful Earth through dance and creative imagination. Each day children will discover a different aspect of our world – Undersea Exploration, Forest Adventure, Our Growing World, Jungle Safari and Soaring Above the Ground . Creative movement, arts/crafts and stories will be used by our experienced teachers to make these elements come alive.
