Momentum Dance Company

Momentum Dance Company is a boutique dance studio and home of the seven time national award winning competitive company. MDC prides itself on intimate sized classes focusing on each dancer's strengths and goals.

An additional weekly technique class is offered if a dancer is pursuing a style not currently covered in their required curriculum. This ensures well-rounded training and skill development across multiple dance genres.

One weekly Style B rehearsal is required for Company members aged 12+. This rehearsal time is focused on refining their choreography and performance quality for 'Style B' routines.

One weekly Style A rehearsal is a key component for Company members aged 12+. This rehearsal is dedicated to practicing and perfecting their routines in 'Style A', ensuring peak performance readiness.

One weekly Style B technique class is required for Company members aged 12+. This class is dedicated to mastering the technical elements and nuances of their chosen 'Style B' dance discipline.

One weekly Technique Class is a requirement for Company members aged 12+. This class focuses on general dance conditioning, flexibility, and strength training to support their overall performance abilities.

Two weekly Ballet technique classes are required for Company members aged 12+. These classes are designed to enhance their classical ballet skills, providing a strong foundation for all dance genres.

One weekly Contemporary or Lyrical rehearsal is required for Company members aged 9-11. This rehearsal focuses on polishing their routines in these styles, ensuring they are performance-ready.

One weekly Jazz rehearsal is a core requirement for Company dancers aged 9-11. This rehearsal time is dedicated to practicing and perfecting their Jazz routines for various performances and competitions.

One weekly Contemporary or Lyrical technique class is required for Company members aged 9-11. This class allows dancers to explore expressive movement and develop skills in these distinct styles.

Dancers must wear athletic clothing that does not restrict movement such as leggings, booty shorts, sports bras, tank tops, etc. Tap shoes are required. Dancer's hair must be pulled back in a pony tail or bun.

She was hesitant at first to try jazz dance and do competitions when she started two years ago, but through your tutelage and support, she has grown into not only an improved dancer but a more confident person. She loves dancing with Momentum; it's really become her passion. You have been such a supportive dance teacher and have helped to push her to do more than she thought she could do. She was so incredibly proud of the first trophy her Breakthrough team won. When I asked her if she wanted an individual trophy to take home to mark the event, she said "No, the team trophy is enough. We did it as a team." And that, was incredibly valuable in and of itself; that she was part of something bigger than herself. Thank you Betsy!

We realize some dancers don't want to take any time off during summer break and want to keep up with all their technical training throughout the summer months! Which is why we have created a summer session of technique class all summer long! Meet with us every Tuesday during to maintain summer our technical skills, improve and challenge yourself. The classes will be tailored to the dancers in attendance each week, however, we do highly recommend dancers that attend these classes have previous ballet and jazz training.

If you plan to audition for Season 12 Competitive Company, Choreography camps are required for dancer in Petite, Junior, & Teen/Senior Companies! Please put these dates on your calendar! Dancers will learn choreography for 2 dances during these weeks. Attendance as a company dancer is mandatory and not open to dancers not on company.

These 5 day camps are created for the sassiest dancers, ready to take their dance and performance skills to the next level! Hip Hop, Jazz and Acro are all combined in these 5 day adventures along with camp themed arts & crafts. All camps also include costuming, hair and make up with a grande finale performance at the end of the week!

These camps are created for your tiniest dancer ready to make their dance camp debut! Dancers will combine Jazz, Hip Hop & Tumbling in a whimsical creative environment. Dance related arts & crafts will be made every day to use in the end of week live performance for friends and family members. Two snacks daily are provided, all craft materials, as well a costume/camp shirt will also be provided.

Choreography Camps are scheduled from August 18th-19th from 9am to 4pm, and again from August 25th-29th from 4pm to 8pm. There are also Solo/duet/trio Choreography sessions on August 23-24th.

Designed for dancers interested in auditioning for one of MDC's competitive companies for Season Twelve Audition Prep Camp is the dance-intense week full of every style of dance for the serious dancer looking to excel their dance training. Available for ages 7+. All dancers are welcome but this week is required for those auditioning for Season Twelve company! There is nothing this camp will not cover--Ballet, Stretch & Strengthen, injury prevention, Jazz, Leaps & Turns, Progressions, Contemporary, Acrobatics, Hip Hop, Improvisation & Freestyle techniques and even, yes yes yes...Tap! Open to ages 7-18 this camp is mandatory for dancers auditioning for MDC's Competitive Company. This camp is open to all dancers and you do not need to be auditioning to participate! It will be an outstanding week of fun and dance for all of those who attend! Each day will present a new schedule of a variety of styles and classes with each of MDC's Season Twelve faculty. Guest instructors include Chalatorn Ujamras, Kyson Kai, Kris Terry, Danyel Moulton, Cooper Zamorano and John Barclay. This camp is for the serious dancer looking to train!

The Royal Performance is an epic, show-stopping performance where family and friends can watch our young dancers rule the stage with power, attitude, and heart!

Dancers will perform their own rendition of the Era's Tour at the end of this camp and feel like their very own popstar! Our dancers will learn a Jazz, Hip Hop as well as an Acro dance to perform in their week end concert. Swifties will be provided with 2 snacks, a Camp T-shirt and all craft supplies for the week. All costume pieces & crafts made dancers get to take home at the end of the week, to remember their summer adventure!
