Folklorico Latino de Woodland, located in Woodland, California, is a vibrant cultural dance institution with a rich history, founded in 1986 by Artistic Director Gloria "Glo" Rodriguez. Glo, an accomplished folklorico dancer and instructor for over three decades, leads a dedicated team of experienced educators. Omar Quintero, the Adult Instructor, brings 34 years of folklorico expertise. Sara Garcia, the Intermediate Youth Instructor, offers 25 years of experience and is also proficient in Salsa and Bachata. Francisca "Fran" Rios, the Beginning Youth Instructor, has been sharing her passion for folklorico with young learners since 2016. The studio is committed to preserving cultural heritage through intricate footwork, detailed costumes, and engaging choreography, specializing in various forms of folklorico dance. Beyond its core focus, Folklorico Latino de Woodland offers a diverse array of disciplines including Bachata, Ballet, Ballroom, Breakdance, Contemporary, Flamenco, Hip Hop, Jazz, Salsa, Tap, and Zumba. Folklorico Latino de Woodland provides accessible programs for various age groups, fostering self-confidence, physical strength, flexibility, self-discipline, positive body image, and creative expression. The studio is actively accepting waitlist registrations for 2025. The Project Team, guided by Artistic Director Gloria Rodriguez and Instructor Omar Quintero, comprises experienced dancers dedicated to special projects, showcasing advanced dancing and choreography, and mentoring youth. The studio emphasizes a supportive community and a love for dance, celebrating diversity among participants of all ages and experience levels.
