Classes

Creative Movement

Any form of ballet leotard and dance attire is permitted. Pink ballet slippers and black tap shoes are required.

Kinder Rock

Any form of ballet leotard and dance attire is permitted. Pink ballet slippers are required.

Acro & Tumbling

Tight fitted clothing and hair pulled back in either a bun or secured off the face. This class does not require shoes.

Hip Hop

Dancers are permitted to be more creative with attire for hip hop classes. All shorts need to be longer than arms length. Sneakers (a designated pair they do not wear outside) are required. We will ask that all hip-hop dancers change into their “dance” sneakers before entering their designated studio.

Tap

Fitted tank top or tee with proper undergarments fitted leggings, capris pants, or shorts and black tap shoes. Older dancers please wear black Oxford tap shoes.

Lyrical/Contemporary

Fitted tank top or tee with proper undergarments, fitted leggings, capris pants, or shorts. Hair pulled back off the face and secured for the duration of class. Pirouettes/foot undies or jazz shoes are required. *Always the option to go barefoot.

Jazz/Pom/Turns

Fitted tank top or tee with proper undergarments fitted leggings, capris pants, or shorts and tan jazz shoes. Hair pulled back off of the face and secured for the duration of the class. (Turns dancers may wear jazz shoes, lyrical shoes or ballet slippers).

Ballet

Black leotard and pink ballet tights. Pink ballet split sole slippers required. Hair secured in a neat and durable bun. Boys: Black tights and fitted white ballet shirt with black men’s ballet slippers.

Pre-Pointe & Pointe Classes

Dancers who would like to enroll in a pre-pointe or pointe class will need to be invited by a teacher or evaluated before enrollment. Dancer is required to take 2 additional ballet classes

Teen B or Teen B/C

The teen program is geared towards teenagers who have not danced before or have taken time off from dance and would like to start again, without the fear of being in a class with younger dancers! These classes are for beginning and intermediate teens.

Third year dancer in a specified style. Second year dancers with strong facility, focus and desire; strong teacher recommendation. These are 1 hour classes for beginner-level dancers.

INTRO TO JAZZ

This is a 1 hour class that introduces the dancers to the basics of ballet and jazz technique and vocabulary in a structured class environment. The students will develop rhythm, coordination, and movement all while building their confidence and self-esteem.

Creative Movement 1 & 2

Creative Movement 1 (CM1) is for ages 3-4 and Creative Movement 2 (CM2) is for ages 4-5. This is a 1-hour class that introduces the dancers to the basics of ballet, tap, and jazz technique and vocabulary in a structured class environment. The students will develop rhythm, coordination, and movement all while building their confidence and self-esteem.

Kinder Rock

This class is for dancers between the ages of 2 and 3 years old. It is a 30 minute class that will introduce your dancer to ballet and jazz while incorporating coordination and movement. It also integrates visual stimulation and games to keep the dancers learning and having fun.

Teen

The teen program is geared towards teenagers who have not danced before or have taken time off from dance and would like a refresher. These classes are for beginning and intermediate teens.

PBT

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program that has been designed to enhance students’ technique by focussing on training the muscle memory required in each exercise in all forms of dance. It is a unique training system using ballet-technique specific exercises to train skill acquisition in a graded and progressive manner from junior through to advanced levels.

Turns

These classes are designed to train dancers in turns. Dancers will do many exercises to build core strength and technique.

Flex/Strength and Stretch

Stretch and strength classes develop dancers’ flexibility and strength. These classes are designed to enhance students’ technique in turns, jumps, and leaps. The class will focus on elongating and strengthening muscles to give dancers more power and strength when dancing.

Hip Hop

This is a fun and up-beat class that integrates many different styles of hip-hop including pop and lock, street style, and break dancing. Students will learn the trendiest moves that they see in the current pop culture.

Poms

The poms program focuses on preparing dancers for high school, college, or professional dance teams. The classes teach sharp, clean motions through across the floor and pom combinations. These classes also concentrate on the many “skills” that are required by dance teams such as jumps, leaps, and turns.

Lyrical/Contemporary

Lyrical/Contemporary classes are taught using ballet, jazz, and modern technique. This style of dance is very interpretive to the music and allows students the ability to express more emotion through dance.

Tap

The tap program concentrates on both rhythmic and classical tap methods. Students will learn vocabulary, rhythmic timing, improvisation and tap choreography.

Jazz

The jazz program focuses on building strong technique, strength, and flexibility. The classes incorporate stretching, across the floor combinations, and jazz routines. The dancers will learn different turns, jumps, leaps, and extensions while incorporating them into many different styles of jazz.

Ballet

The ballet program teaches dancers strong technique through traditional ballet. The students will learn proper placement, turnout, technique and vocabulary in a disciplined environment. This will develop strong work ethics and discipline in a positive atmosphere, which will build self-esteem. Ballet is the basis for all other forms of dance and we recommend ballet to every dancer. Pointe classes are by teacher approval.

The Nutcracker Experience

A Community Outreach Program, Transforming Lives Through Dance. The Nutcracker Experience introduces students and families to the magic of narrative ballet, while also giving back to the community through two outreach performances at local nursing homes and a final theatre performance for friends and family.
