About Moovment House

Moovment House, located in the vibrant North Cherry Creek neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, is a welcoming sanctuary for movement and artistic expression. Founded by dedicated dance artist and choreographer Mary Lynn Lewark, the studio offers a unique approach to movement, fostering a passion for artistic expression and holistic development for all ages. Moovment House provides a diverse curriculum that includes foundational dance styles such as Ballet, Contemporary, and Modern, encouraging fluid and expressive movement. For those drawn to rhythm and intricate footwork, Tap classes are available, led by faculty member Rose Silberman, who also brings her expertise in Feldenkrais. The studio also caters to urban dance with energetic Hip Hop classes. Beyond individual styles, Moovment House nurtures collaborative artistry through Ensemble programs for various age brackets, focusing on dance theater productions that blend choreography, storytelling, and high fashion. Embracing a holistic approach, Moovment House also features the transformative Ilan Lev Method, a somatic practice designed to awaken the body's natural ability to move with ease and joy, promoting vitality and well-being. This therapeutic body work experience aims to release obstacles and reconnect individuals with their innate movement patterns. Classes

Ilan Lev Method

The Ilan Lev Method (ILM) is a movement practice, a therapeutic body work and a way of bringing infinite possibilities to your life. It effortlessly removes obstacles, trauma and pain.

Pre-Ensemble

The dancers are all contributors and collaborators, moving well past rote skills and embodying the process of an artist. Casting is pedagogical, meaning the children are given roles so they can both grow as artists and human beings. Every year we create an original dance theater production based on classic children’s literature. We read the book aloud in its entirety as part of our rehearsal process. Dancer considered for this group must be open to the process and have the family support to pursue the time and commitment to the group. Along with attending technical classes weekly, dancers are required to attend all rehearsals.

Little Ensemble

The dancers are all contributors and collaborators, moving well past rote skills and embodying the process of an artist. A balanced mix of core strength, awareness, coordination, flexibility and restorative practices. In this nature centered class, Moovment House teachers will rotate within these, sharing their expertise in Yoga, Movement Somatics(Feldenkrais) and Mindfulness. A must for any growing human being. Moovment Class

A playful practice developing a fearless range and virtuosity, while drawing out our raw innate nature to move and feel. The class is communal, expressive and shared. It is a celebration of the human being possible. Enjoy the research, the challenge, the sweat, the groove. Step into the rich spread of humanity. Teen Contemporary Modern Ballet

Dancers will learn the forms and vocabulary of Ballet III and Ballet IV supported by creative practices, improvisation, innate qualities of human movement and communing. They embody the etiquette of the dance form and learn to both directly learn choreography and how to be contributor to the artistic work that is created. Dancers will informally share class work and dance pieces with parents and friends at the end of each 9-week session.

Functional Conditioning

Functional Conditioning is a dynamic, rejuvenating exercise class emphasizing functional strength, coordination and optimal movement mechanics. Moving with balls, rollers and therabands is not only fun, but wakes up your brain, enhances your posture, and improves your balance, making all your daily activities easier.

Sunday Feels Pretty Awesome

Non-competitive dance sequences for a feel-good time. This adult 70-minute class opens and closes with yoga, and can be done barefoot, with grip socks, or with studio (inside) sneakers. Beginning Tap

A fun introduction to tap dance! Making noise with your feet -- at any age-- is irresistible! We will combine sounds into steps, steps into sequences, and sequences into routines. This holistic course will emphasize rhythm, improvisation, and tap history, training both coordination and creativity.

Adult Advanced Beginner Tap Class

In this class, master the basic steps. Then, add more sounds and speed to increase their difficulty. Put those steps together into choreographed and improvised routines. Learn progressively challenging rhythm exercises. Improve your coordination, balance, musicality and creativity. Get a great workout for body and brain.

Courses

3-5 years Creative Movement

Dancers will learn the forms and vocabulary of Pre-Ballet using creative practices, improvisation, storytelling, singing and innate qualities of human movement development. They will develop dance stories to be shared informally with parents and friends at the end of each 9-week session. We are only registering ten dancers for this class who are committed to the fall, winter and spring session.
