About Alpine Dance Academy

Alpine Dance Academy, nestled in the scenic mountain town of Frisco, Colorado, has been a cornerstone of quality dance instruction in Summit County since its founding in 2009. We offer a comprehensive dance education for students of all ages and skill levels, from 3 years old through high school and adults. Our diverse curriculum is designed to nurture talent and passion, fostering both technical proficiency and artistic expression. Dancers can explore a wide array of foundational and popular styles including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Musical Theatre Dance, Acrobatics, and Ballroom. We also offer Zumba and specialized guest artist workshops. Led by owner and director Sara Skinner, our talented team of instructors, including Alyssa Hibbin, Sindell Perez-Fuentes, Lillian Wetzel, Annika Kramer, and Hailey Pfeifer, bring a wealth of experience. We are also honored to have hosted guest artists such as Casie 'Tynee' Goshow and Caroline Laporte. For dedicated dancers, the "Alpine Vibes" elite competition performance company offers the opportunity to represent the studio at regional competitions. Alpine Dance Academy is committed to providing a supportive and enriching environment where every student can discover the joy of movement, build confidence, and cultivate a lifelong passion for dance. Registration for the 2025-2026 season opens May 1st, with classes structured to align with school grade levels.

Contemporary blends creative movement and artistry with athletic technique found in Jazz, Modern, and Ballet. Participation in contemporary class is by invitation only.

acting

Acting classes focus on building confidence in public speaking, memorization and audition skills. Acting classes are a wonderful opportunity to build poise and confidence in your dancer and are open to dancers 4th grade and above.

theatre Dance

Theatre dance combines acting and showmanship with Broadway jazz styles. Fosse technique, Golden Age Musicals, and present-day Broadway showtunes will be introduced in class. Dancers will learn performance and acting skills in this high energy class.

acro

Acro, short for acrobatics, is a combination of dance and gymnastics techniques. Dancers will learn balancing skills, rolls, flexibility, cartwheels, roundoffs, aerials, handsprings in a safe progression-based class. A leotard, tights or leggings, and bare feet are required for this class.

HiP HOP

Hip hop is a high energy class featuring street dance styles of breaking, popping, and locking. Dancers will learn classy, age-appropriate hip hop choreography and tricks. Clean, dance-only sneakers are required for this class.

MODERN

Modern dance utilizes ballet techniques to play with flow, suspension, fall and recovery, and working in opposition. Dancers are required to participate in the appropriate level of ballet to participate in modern classes. A leotard, tights or leggings, and bare feet are required for this class.

JAZZ

Jazz classes combine ballet technique with rhythm and weight transfer. Dancers will learn leaps, turns introducing sharp and fluid motions in this high energy class. A leotard, tights or leggings, and black jazz shoes are required for this class.

TAP

Tap classes have a strong focus on rhythm and musicality. Dancers will be exposed to rhythm tap, broadway tap, and soft shoe styles. Dancers will learn tap terminology, and become musicians as well as dancers in this upbeat class. A leotard, tights or leggings, and black tap shoes are required for this class.

BALLET

Ballet is the foundation of all dance styles. With a focus on classical technique, each class will consist of barre work, center floor, and across the floor combinations. Ballet teaches strength, balance, discipline, flexibility, stamina, coordination, rhythm, grace, and elegance. A leotard, tights, pink or tan ballet shoes, and hair in a bun are required for this class. Dancers who are eligible to work en pointe (dancers have been notified), are encouraged to dance en pointe for their level of ballet.

Ballet & Tap Combo

Ballet & Tap Combo classes will focus on fun and creativity! Dancers will be introduced to basic tap and ballet techniques to develop musicality, discipline, rhythm, flexibility, and basic choreography skills. Dancers will perform one of these styles in our end of year recital.
