Classes

Lyrical

Slow style of dance where lyrics of the song are interpreted through movement. This form ustilizes technique and flexibility. A ballet class is recommended in conjunction with this class.

Ballet and Pointe

Classical dance performed in ballet shoes, we use a combination of Vagonova and the French school of technique. Pointe is offered to students at an intermediate or advanced level who are ages 11 and up. Most be evaluated for readiness.

Contemporary/Modern

May be abstract, artistic, uses isolations and timing or abstract concepts and pedestrian movement. Can tell a story or notand is recommended with ballet training. For ages 11 and up.

Tap

A percussive form of dance where the dancer is also a musician - tap shoes required.

Acrobatics

A style of gymnastics that incorporates floor work, moderate tumbling and flexibility in conjunction with dance.

POM

Dance using Poms in choreography, cheer dance.

Hip Hop

An urban dance form derived from street dance and performed to hip hop music with clean lyrics.

Jazz

May have different styles such as Broadway, Street or Urban, Dance Team or Competition style performed to jazz or pop music this style of dance uses leaps, turns, kicks, classic jazz steps and isolations. May rely heavily on unison for certain styles while others do not.

Jazz in Heels

A jazz or tap class taught in high heeled character or tap shoes. See Instructor for specific shoe being used.

Leaps and Turns

A class that is offered by level to our competitive dance teams to develop their skills in leaps, turns and tricks

Flexibility and Strength

A combined or separate class focusing on either conditioning the entire body or flexibility training . Offered for dancers and non dancers. Sometimes offered in combination

National Award Winning Competition Team

Competitive Team and Performance Team classes are offered for ages 4 and up and are available via audition or invitation. Team commitment varies by level . Our basic, Opal, Starlet and Junior teams are required to take 6 classes per week and compete in all group competitions( Average is 3 -4, including one National if the studio participates. If desired they may also compete in additional solo competition) Our most advanced level Elite Team- is committed to 4 or more daysper week of classes and rehearsals. with 3-4 group competitions and several optional solo/ duet, trio competitions in a season including Nationals.. Our youngest teams must commit to 4 classes per week with one- two competitions per season. Our teen level Performance Team is a stepped down competition team which take 5 mandatory classes per week and compete in two competitions per year. All teams are expected to take summer session classes and sign a contract of commitment for the season. Hip hop teams are available on a seasonal basis and have separate requirements. Classes are offered at a discount rate for most teams to accommodate for multiple classes. One mandatory fundraiser is required per year. ages 5-7 with 1-4 yrs experience ask for placement offerings for tap/ballet combo, jazz, hip hop

Kinder 2
