Dance Arts Valdosta, Inc., nestled in the heart of Valdosta, Georgia, is a vibrant studio dedicated to fostering confidence, creativity, and friendships through world-class dance education. Under the artistic direction of Allison Shenton, the studio offers a comprehensive program designed to inspire and train dancers of all ages and skill levels. Our esteemed faculty, including Shannon Thomas, Melissa Pihos, Emily Harp, Margaret Anne Cosper, Lauren Griffin, Carrie Beoddy, Taylor Sanders, Elisa Phelps, Merriss Millsap, and founder Linda C. Chase, brings diverse expertise to our curriculum. We cultivate a passion for movement across a rich array of disciplines, encompassing foundational styles such as Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Hip Hop, alongside expressive forms like Contemporary and Modern dance. For our youngest aspiring dancers, Kinderballet programs begin as early as 2 1/2 years old, focusing on developing coordination, musical awareness, and listening skills. Our curriculum emphasizes fundamentals and technique, with special attention given to Pointe work within our classical ballet instruction. Students gain invaluable stage experience through annual productions, including "The Nutcracker" in December and a culminating student recital in May. Dance Arts Valdosta provides a nurturing yet disciplined atmosphere where dancers can learn, explore, and discover the magic of dance, preparing them for professional pursuits and collegiate dance programs.
