About Idaho Ballet Theatre

Idaho Ballet Theatre, located in Idaho Falls, Idaho, is a premier institution dedicated to nurturing aspiring dancers of all ages. Founded by Brandy K. Jensen, the studio provides a distinguished faculty, including Artistic Directors Abbey Lasley, Joni McDonald, and Jennifer Teuscher, alongside teachers Caitlin Cook, Rosie Pedersen, Ashley Campbell, Katelynn Taylor, and Leslie Pincock. With a strong foundation in classical ballet, Idaho Ballet Theatre emphasizes early, proper body alignment and technique, fostering discipline, grace, and storytelling. Core strength conditioning supports classical ballet training delivered in a fun, positive, and age-appropriate rigorous environment. Students aged 10 and older can explore contemporary, jazz, and modern dance styles, with improvisation, acting, and mime incorporated to enhance expressiveness. Classes are available from pre-ballet to advanced technique and pointe work. Performance is a vital part of the curriculum, with at least two annual ballet productions, including Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker each December. The studio fosters a welcoming, world-class instructional environment within a supportive, family-like atmosphere, welcoming dancers to "Perform With Us." Special programs like the Princess Ballet Summer Camp cater to younger enthusiasts, while Summer Intensives are offered for various skill levels, featuring renowned faculty and guest artists. Top students demonstrate competitive prowess at an international level, particularly through participation in the Youth American Grand Prix Ballet Competition.
