Idaho Falls School of Ballet is proud of its distinguished faculty, including Arynne Belger (BFA, University of Utah), professional contemporary ballet dancer Mariko Downs (choreographer), professional ballet dancer Nic Gili (international company experience) leading men's and pas de deux classes, Rachel Manley (Ballet Magnificat scholarship student), Sadie Smart (Progressing Ballet Technique and five years of experience), and Diedre Sakota (MA in dance technique pedagogy, PhD research in kinesiology). The school prepares students for college dance scholarships and summer intensives, with a history of enriching collaborations with professional musicians and organizations like the Idaho Falls Symphony and Eugene Ballet. They offer a free trial for all adult classes, encouraging newcomers to experience the joy of movement.

Youth Ballet and Contemporary Classes Levels 6, 7, 8

Students are instructed on professionalism, with the expectation of consistency, commitment, and focus. Technical work includes multiple turns and batterie. When students are ready , they begin pointe training. Strength training classes for jumps and turns are included.

Advanced Ballet and Contemporary Classes

Students refine technique and grow in artistry while learning to adapt to teachers and choreographers. Classical repertoire is incorporated into classwork to strengthen and expand pointe skills. Students at this level are also permitted to study Contemporary Ballet. Strength training classes for jumps and turns are included.

Youth Ballet and Contemporary Classes Levels 3, 4, 5

The emphasis on these levels of instruction includes correct body placement and alignment as well as correct execution of barre and center exercises. Within this framework, we encourage students to enjoy the sense of traveling through space, and students learn to differentiate movement for artistic expression.

Intermediate Ballet

Adults of all ages are welcome in our Intermediate and Beginning Adult levels, regardless of experience. Participants will engage in adagio, allegro, and pirouette combinations to promote technique and artistry. The classes include exercises to develop a lengthened and strong musculature, reinforce correct posture, and increase flexibility.

Beginning Ballet

Adults of all ages are welcome in our Intermediate and Beginning Adult levels, regardless of experience. Youth Ballet and Contemporary Classes Level 1

Students are introduced to basic coordination and flexibility skills while learning the correct use of the legs and feet, as well as beginning French terminology. The joy of movement is encouraged.

Adult Ballet Barre Bodysculpt

Ballet Barre Bodysculpt will combine ballet, Pilates, and yoga elements to sculpt beautiful, lean dancer muscles. Barre Fitness uses low-impact strength training exercises and utilizes isometric movements to energize music that will trim, tighten, and tone. We will focus on improving balance, posture, flexibility, and core strength. This total-body workout is for all ages and body types and does not require any prior dance experience.
