Musical Theater

Musical theater is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, acting and dance.

Cheer

Our cheer classes are designed to teach the fundamentals of cheer and dance in a fun, energetic and safe atmosphere. Students will learn cheer motions, jumps, stunting and more.

Hip Hop

Dantz Dynamix’s Hip-Hop program is multi-leveled with evolving dynamics, direction, and style! Hip Hop is a popular genre offering here and tends to fill up quickly. In the first introductory levels, the staple steps of hip hop are explored. Hip-hop students are encouraged to break out of their comfort zone through this self- expressive style of dance. As the levels progress, different movements and styles are explored as their age and ability increases. In the higher levels, there is less focus on the staple steps and more of an exploration of various styles through a foundation of strong technique and musicality. Age-appropriate music is always selected for each level, keeping each class a fun and exciting environment for all!

Lyrical

Lyrical dance is a style of dance created from the fusion of ballet with jazz and contemporary dance techniques and is a cousin to those styles. It has grown in popularity at Dantz Dynamix over the years. Students especially enjoy the music selection and expressive movements.

Jazz

Jazz dance at Dantz Dynamix is very popular. Dancers are exposed to the various styles of jazz including lyrical, funk and traditional. We emphasize a strong foundation in technique.

Tap

The many styles of tap dance are explored in these classes. Like jazz, lessons and classes for children and teens are available at various levels.

Pre-Pointe & Pointe

At an advanced level, ballet students may have the opportunity to go on pointe and have more opportunities to study the unique and beautiful style of ballet performance. We believe that Dantz Dynamix ballet students need to have a strong, technical foundation, but also need a place to love and nurture their “inner ballerina”! Point work is offered to students by teacher recommendation and students must test before being allowed to get pointe shoes. Students must have a minimum of three years of ballet and at least 11 years old (12 is better). Students participating in Pointe classes must also take a flat ballet class.

Ballet

Ballet at Dantz Dynamix is based on the Cecchetti syllabus. However, students will also become familiar with the other schools and styles of ballet throughout their training. Being that ballet dance is a core subject in all dance training, students will be educated and challenged to continually grow and develop their technique. Ballet training will also work on providing grace, strength, poise, balance, and flexibility, which will help improve students’ training in other subjects and activities.

5-6 Year-Old Classes

For 5-6 year-olds, we mostly offer combination classes, but occasionally we offer single-genre classes. If your dancer enrolls in a combination class, she/he will focus on one genre (for example, tap) the first semester and then will switch to another genre (example, ballet) second semester. Please refer to the schedule to see which genre is offered first semester. For example, if the class is listed as 5-6 T/J, that means that tap is first semester and jazz is second semester or 5-6 B/T, means ballet is first semester and tap is second semester. HH stands for hip-hop. Occasionally, we offer single-genre classes for this age, such as lyrical, ballet, hip-hop, and elementary cheer. In this case, your dancer will focus on only that genre for the entire year.

3,-4 & 4–5 Year-Old "Preschool" Classes

For 3-4 and 4-5 year-olds we offer combination classes. This means that your child will focus on one genre (for example, tap) the first semester and then will switch to another genre (example, ballet) second semester. Please refer to the schedule to see which genre is offered in the first semester. For example, if the class is listed as 3-4 T/J, that means that tap is first semester and jazz is second semester, or 4-5 B/T, means ballet is first semester and tap is second semester. HH stands for Hippity-Hop (Hip-Hop). These classes are designed to encourage a child’s natural movement and muscle development through music, creative songs, and dance. In the first introductory levels of Hippity-Hop, the staple steps are explored. A foundation is set and the funkier side of dance is introduced.

2-Year-Old "Baby" Classes

A dance class for 2 year olds! This class is designed with the specific needs of a 2 year-old in mind and utilizes a parent (if necessary the first couple of lessons) to help orient their child to the workings of a classroom while encouraging the child’s natural movement. Fine and gross motor skills are developed through the use of music, dance and their favorite obstacle courses. The amount of growth seen in each child by year’s end is truly amazing. When each class is ready, we will no longer need the aid of the parents and our teachers and assistants will be able to work with just the children. This class is a combination class, so dancers will utilize ballet shoes one semester and tap shoes one semester. (Refer to the schedule to see which one is first). This class does participate in recital.
