Breakaway Ballroom, located in Nampa, Idaho, is a studio dedicated to sharing the joy and skill of ballroom dancing with the community. Founded by Trevor and Chantal Dougal, who transitioned from directing the Class Act Ballroom Company at Impulse Dance Academy in 2015, Breakaway Ballroom has continued to foster a love for this elegant dance form. Trevor Dougal, who began dancing at age 11 and cofounded the Ballroom Dance Team at the University of Idaho, brings extensive experience, complemented by Chantal's deep involvement in ballroom dance and the creation of the University of Idaho's Ballroom Dance Team. Amber Weed, an alumna of the BYU Ballroom Dance Company, also shares her passion with students. The studio offers a welcoming environment for participants of all ages, from pre-teens in grades 4-6 (third graders welcome upon tryout) to high school students. Breakaway Ballroom provides a diverse range of dance experiences, including dedicated training for aspiring dancers with Junior, Youth Intermediate, and Youth Advanced Teams. An Advanced Tech Class is available for technique refinement. Beyond competitive opportunities, the studio emphasizes social engagement with regular Friday night Social Dance sessions, encouraging community and fun. Private lessons are also available for personalized instruction. Breakaway Ballroom is committed to providing a comprehensive dance education in a supportive and engaging atmosphere.
