This class will work on basic through advanced leaps and turns in both ballet and jazz technique. As dancers progress, combinations of leaps and turns across the floor will be added. Strongly recommended for dancers wanting to advance their dance abilities beyond a specific style of dance.

Tumble

Following the Tumbling Effect curriculum, students will learn tumbling skills at their level, being individually celebrated for their accomplishments in the progression of Tumbling skills. Building strength, coordination, and a sense of joy in conquering hard goals!

Tap

From the days of Fred Astaire to the rhythms of Savion Glover and beyond, tap has been an integral and ever-evolving part of the American dance landscape. Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound and strengthening of basic tap technique and terminology. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun.

Pre-Pointe

A class designed to help get dancers ready for pointe. This class focuses on gaining the necessary foot, ankle, and lower leg strength and flexibility needed to execute proper pointe technique. This class is by invitation only for slightly more advanced Ballet students.

Pointe

Pointe class can be taken on flat or in pointe shoes at the instructors discretion. All pointe classes are designed for students with previous ballet training. Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles. Dancers must have instructor approval for this class.

Lyrical

This class is a hybrid of ballet, jazz and modern that challenges dancers to use choreography and movement to interpret music and express emotion. Dancers learn to express emotions derived from lyrics to convey the dance’s meaning. It emphasizes interpretation of music lyrics while telling a story with movement that can be fluid or abstract

Jazz

Jazz class will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. These classes teach the technique of jazz dance through turns, leaps, rolls, jumps, and runs. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Street and Contemporary to help develop a well-rounded dancer. As students progress through each level curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.

Hip Hop

The Hip Hop style of dance has become increasingly popular through the years. However, most studios that offer hip hop are technically teaching "Street style" or "Streetdance", as Hip Hop is fundamentally Breaking. Street style has evolved as part of the hip hop culture. Street style incorporates freestyle dance with free flowing and funky movement. Our Street/Hip Hop classes are danced to a wide range of past and present music, with all music and choreography being age-appropriate!

Contemporary

A free flowing form of dance with elements of modern, jazz, ballet, lyrical and styles unique to itself. This class encourages natural movement and personal interpretation. It focuses on self-expression, awareness of space and body movement, use of body weight, efficiency of muscle use and body alignment.

Ballet

Beauty, flow and elegance are inherent in the elements of ballet. Ballet is the classical dance form that can be mastered by itself or used as a technical base or supplement to other dance forms. Classes focus on overall body alignment and awareness with an emphasis on the proper usage of feet and legs and execution of turnout. Carriage and usage of upper torso and arms are also stressed. Traditional barre work, center work, and combinations are included in all classes.

Hip Hop

The Hip Hop style of dance has become increasingly popular. However, what is taught is technically known as Street style because the dance term, "Hip Hop" is fundamentally Break dancing. Street style has evolved as part of the hip hop culture and incorporates freestyle dance with free flowing and funky movement. Our Street/Hip Hop classes are danced to a wide range of past and present music, with all music and choreography being age-appropriate!

Buns & Beats
