About Mid-Illinois Gymnastics and Dance

Mid-Illinois Gymnastics and Dance, located in Godfrey, Illinois, offers a comprehensive program designed to foster athletic and artistic development in students of all levels. While the facility boasts a state-of-the-art hardwood floor dance room and specialized dance equipment, the curriculum prominently features a robust gymnastics and tumbling program. Classes range from "Tumble Tots with Parents" for 2-3 year olds, progressing through "Tumble Gems," "Tumble Stars," and "Tumble Stars Step Up." For older students, "Cheer Class" for ages 11-18 focuses on tumbling, jumps, and fitness. Competitive opportunities are extensive, with "Competitive Team" programs available at XCEL and USAG levels for girls, alongside "TumbleTeam" training. These advanced programs require assessment. Although class descriptions lean towards gymnastics, the inclusion of an "Artistic Director for Mid Illinois Dance," Kristin Moehn Bower, suggests a strong dance offering with styles like Ballet and Hip Hop. The studio is led by a highly experienced and accomplished staff, including USAG Elite Coach Larry N. Moehn, former Olympic Trials contender Judy Johnson-Durr, and Artistic Director Kristin Moehn Bower, a former USAG State Champion. Instructors like Louise Pope Moehn contribute to a proven track record of coaching Olympic hopefuls, state, regional, and national champions. Mid-Illinois Gymnastics and Dance is committed to professional, progressive, and safety-oriented instruction, aiming to improve agility, flexibility, strength, coordination, confidence, and self-esteem. Their philosophy integrates physical, mental, and emotional discipline, creating a valuable asset for any pursuit.
