Main Street Dance Academy, a cornerstone of dance education in Princeton, Illinois for nearly 50 years, offers a comprehensive and enriching learning environment for students of all ages, from 3 to adult. Under the dedicated ownership and instruction of Lindsay Philhower, who brings over 37 years of teaching experience, the academy fosters a safe, happy, and creative atmosphere for dancers to develop their passion. Lindsay's extensive experience includes producing and performing in over 100 shows and serving as lead choreographer for local theatrical productions, ensuring a high level of dance excellence. Main Street Dance Academy specializes in a diverse range of class lessons, offering robust training in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, hip-hop, and contemporary dance. The curriculum progresses from introductory Pre-Dance classes for preschoolers, covering fundamentals of Tap and Ballet with Tumbling, through Beginner I, Intermediate I, and Advanced I levels. For advanced Ballet students, specialized Pointe classes are available. The Accelerated I program further builds foundational skills for older students. The academy provides valuable performance opportunities through two major annual shows: a holiday performance and a spring showcase. Advanced students are also encouraged to develop leadership skills by assisting in instructing younger dancers. Main Street Dance Academy is committed to providing superior dance education, nurturing technique, artistry, and a lifelong love for the performing arts in a positive and fun setting. Private lessons and choreography services are available upon request.
