Modern

Modern dance is a theatrical dance form that emerged in the early 20th century as a rebellion against the strict rules and conventions of ballet. It emphasizes freedom of movement, natural gestures, and the use of breath.

Hip-Hop

Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking , locking, and popping which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States.

Acrobatics

is the performance of extraordinary feats of balance, agility, and motor coordination. It can be found in many of the performing arts, sports (sporting) events, and martial arts. Many compare our acrobatics classes to tumbling.

Tap

a form of dance characterized by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. Two major variations on tap dance exist: rhythm (jazz) tap and Broadway tap. Broadway tap focuses on dance; it is widely performed in musical theater. Students will experience both variations in their studies at our school.

Jazz

a form of dance that officially started in the early 1900s and gained popularity through the 1950s. Using lots of leaps and turns, jazz dance incorporates many of the same elements as ballet. Our jazz classes use predominately "top 40" music. It is generally fast paced and fun!

Ballet

an artistic dance form performed to music using precise and highly formalized set steps and gestures. Classical ballet, which originated in Renaissance Italy and established its present form during the 19th century, is characterized by light, graceful, fluid movements and the use of pointe shoes for older more advanced dancers.

Breakthrough

Petite Feet

This is our entry level for 3—5 year olds. Your little dancer will spin, twirl and grow as part of our Petite Feet program. Incorporating ballet and acrobatics into a one hour class that meets once a week, developed just for 3—5 year olds: Your dancer will learn real ballet terminology, play games while learning their left and right; practice galloping and skipping; leaping and turning; all while building confidence, self-awareness, coordination, grace and social skills.

Kick Start
$178.00

Kick Start is for our 4th and 5th grade students. As dancers' concentration grows so does their passion for the things they love. We hope to inspire dancers by increasing their ballet class to a full hour in preparation for the well sought after pointe shoes. Dancers will have the opportunity to perform in three dances in the spring recital and one number for the Nancy Sauer Christmas Hour.

Steppin' Up
$122.00

The third level of our specialized children’s program is Steppin’ Up. This level is geared toward 2nd and 3rd grade dancers, and includes ballet, tap and jazz. As your dancer grows, so do his/her interests. We encourage that growth with 90 minutes of classes once a week: An hour of ballet/tap as well as 30 minutes of jazz. Dancers will continue their growth, all the while adding artistry and creativity to their repertoire. The opportunity to perform in 2 numbers in the spring show will be available to these dancers, jazz and tap. Ballet will be performed in the Nancy Sauer Christmas Hour.
