Under the leadership of owner Avery Wolfe, who began her dance journey at the studio at just two years old and is now 20, The Dance Center provides a safe, loving, and welcoming environment for individuals to explore their love for movement and find their unique voice through artistic expression. Their comprehensive curriculum focuses on foundational techniques, including Ballet, Tap, Musical Theater, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Contemporary dance, often requiring concurrent enrollment in Ballet for a thorough understanding. The Dance Center emphasizes progressive learning and skill development, supporting students from introductory levels to more advanced training. Classes

Contemporary

For students having adequate technical/core strength, enrolled in Ballet Level IV or higher, and approved by the instructor. Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern jazz, lyrical, and classical ballet.

Adult Tap

If you like to dance, have fun & create beauty while wearing comfortable clothes, this class is for you. The Tap class includes dance that’s challenging yet appropriate for the adult novice dancer. The class will also improve your mobility, coordination & self-confidence. Join us for the fun & fitness!

Pre-Ballet

This class is for students 4 years of age. The class introduces the students to basic ballet movements to help develop coordination and balance. A small part of the class includes Creative Movement to help the student increase listening skills, motor skills & self-confidence.

Pom

The movements are sharp, energetic. and fun! The students will create wonderful visual patterns with their poms and choreography. Pom is similar to jazz, where both use “tricks” and skills. You will find Pom used in most school dance teams.

Pre-Pointe & Pointe

For students having adequate technical/core strength, enrolled in Ballet Level IV or higher, and approved by the instructor. Students will work on increasing strength, achieving proper stance & correct mechanics.

Creative Movement

This is a fun class for ages 2 and 3 in which song & dance games & other Techniques are used to develop confidence & motor skills. One parent should accompany children to their class.

Tap-Ballet-Jazz 9 & Up

Open to all students age 9 and older. This class series is ideal for the following types of students: beginning students, students in their first 2-3 years of dance training, and those who have been away from dance for a while.

Hip Hop

HIP HOP is a style of energetic movement characterized by a fusion of dance genres. Bouncing, rocking, isolating, stomping, jumping all executed to lively music. Dancers can express their own personalities in the style of dance. It is a style of dance that requires little to no prior dance training.

Jazz

Jazz incorporates the student’s ballet training with spirited movements and contemporary music, promoting the development of spotting and pointing skills as well as improving center control. Jazz students must be enrolled in a Ballet class.

Musical Theatre

Classes will be offered at two levels. Students ages 7-9 may enroll in the Level I class. Students age 10 and up should enroll in the Level II class. The teacher will instruct the students in song and dance in various levels of theatrical choreography to Broadway musical selections and more.

Tap

Tap classes are especially beneficial for achieving good rhythm and musical timing skills, which is important in all phases of dance. Each class offers tap technique exercises and practice routines which progress in difficulty with each level. It is a requisite that Tap student also have concurrent enrollment in a Ballet class.

Ballet

Ballet is the technical basis for all dance and is where students learn to be flowing and graceful. Ballet is introduced to students in the Pre-Ballet class at age four. French terminology is taught in all classes as well as musical timing and choreography. The degree of difficulty increases as students move up each level.
