Dance Conditioning

Combo Classes (Ballet/Tap & Jazz/Tap)

Tap: Clean sneakers that are worn only in the studio. Sneakers allow our instructors to better hear young dancer’s sounds. Tap shoes will be worn during the Recital only. Since Tap is first, please have your child in his or her sneakers at the beginning of class. No crop tops please! Ballet: Students must wear a leotard (any style) with any color tights. Pink Ballet slippers must be worn on the feet. Hair does not have to be in a bun; it need only be worn so that it is out of the face. Jazz: Please come to class wearing tight fitting clothing that does not restrict movement. Dance Paws can be worn in class. No crop tops please!

Ballet

Girls must wear a leotard (any style) with pink tights. Pink Ballet slippers must be worn on the feet. Hair must be worn in a bun. Ballet skirts, legwarmers and tight-fitting shorts are optional. Boys should wear clothing that does not restrict movement

Hip Hop & Breaking

Students must have a clean pair of sneakers dedicated for studio use. No shorts. Students are advised to wear a couple of layers of clothing such as a t-shirt and sweatshirt to act as padding. Knee pads are strongly recommended. No crop tops please!

Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary

Please come to class wearing tight fitting clothing that does not restrict movement. Dance Paws can be worn in class. No crop tops please!

Ballet/Tap for 3- to 4-year-old

For parents of children in this class: Your child may need your attention from time to time for various reasons including bathroom or behavioral issues. We ask that you do not leave the waiting room when your child is in class- unless first informing the office and making arrangements to have another parent responsible during your absence. We make every effort to have all children feel safe and cared for in a loving and inspiring learning environment.

Lyrical is a style of Jazz Dance that features combinations of movement that emphasize the lyrical or melodic aspects of a song as opposed to percussive rhythms found in Jazz. This change in musical focus results in movement that has a smooth, flowing quality.

3-8-Year-Old

Introduction to basic tap techniques, focusing on fundamentals, coordination, and musicality in a fun, encouraging environment.

Theatrical Tap

Dancers develop the coordination to integrate the movements of the feet with the rest of the body. In this way the dancer is able to tap out and sustain rhythms while using their head, arms and torso to dance.

Jazz Tap

An extension of African traditions of dance. Here, comprehension of and ability to execute varied rhythms by use of feet and hands will be taught. Class room activities include clapping out various beat patterns, performing drills to improve foot dexterity.

Tap Dance Classes
