Spotlight Dance Academy

Our Advanced Level classes are for trained dancers with at least 4 years of continues 1-1.25 hours (per week) of training in each genre. These classes will incorporate new technical skills and choreography creation with an emphasis on “Creating Artistry.” Refining Advanced Level skills with exposure, dance history, and artists is offered.

Our Beginning and Intermediate Levels classes offer all aspects of dance: Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Jumps and Turns, Hip-Hop. Our beginning and Intermediate level classes are a must for any aspiring dancer and are structured to be challenging as well as rewarding.

This is a 3-week class offering a SDA Holiday Adventure. It takes place on December 3rd, 10th, and 11th.

Creating Artistry is a program for dancers aged 8 and above, requiring an audition. Competition is part of what we do, not all that we are. Although we seek to create exemplary dancers, most importantly we aim to mold exceptional individuals whom are self-disciplined, self-motivated, hardworking, honest individuals. Lifelong friendships are formed within our Pre-Professional level dancers.

Although we seek to create exemplary dancers, most importantly we aim to mold exceptional individuals whom are self-disciplined, self-motivated, hardworking, honest individuals. A Time to Grow (Ages 9+) Classical Ballet @ SDA!

Recreational Dance classes are for Beginning students through Advanced and Adult Classes for ages 9 & up. These classes are designed for the dancer that is including the art of dance in their life for their enjoyment. They consist of developmental classes that include progressive instruction in technique, repertoire, flexibility and strength conditioning, theatre, and performance skills. Students are moved through the levels based on their development, technical ability, mental preparedness, dedication, maturity and attendance. Six levels of classes are offered at Spotlight Dance Academy in the disciplines of Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hip, and Lyrical. Beginning (usually ages 9-12) Intermediate I (usually ages 9-14) Intermediate II (usually ages 10-15) Advanced I-II (usually ages 12-18) Advanced III(usually ages 12-25) Advanced IV (usually ages 12-30) – Please call us for placement in this level

Children’s Program ages 3-8 Our 36 week full season dance classes are developed for specific age groups and designed with social and development purposes in mind. Our high-energy class will expose the children to the joy of movement and music, while helping them develop basic motor skills, muscle strength, coordination and flexibility. Dancers will explore a creative themes through the use of dance and music. Basic tumbling skills will also be introduced. SDA will introduce specific ballet and tap positions, terminology and placement through imaginative music and fun upbeat themes We have an age appropriate curriculum for 3, 4 and 5 &6 and 7&8-year-old dancers as we know these age groups vary widely in their abilities. At SDA we utilize props such as beach balls, hula hoops and various musical instruments to supplement our classes. Each class consists of individual skill building, across the floor skill building, working with a group and working one at a time all while having Fun with a Purpose.

Creative movement classes for little dancers ages 2-3. These classes are sometimes included in our 4 or 6 week sessions- October, January and April Sessions. We will offer short summer sessions for this awesome age group.

Ages 3-9: Our themed classes are perfect for your dancer ages 3-9! A great introduction to a classroom setting, dancers will explore their space with music and dancing to coordinate with the weekly theme. The SDA Staff will instruct the class on following directions, taking turns, and basic dance moves. This is a great way to dance with us this summer!
