Dance Place, nestled in the heart of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, is a vibrant studio dedicated to fostering excellence in dance education for students of all ages. Founded by Mrs. Tracey, who brings extensive experience including a B.F.A. in Dance from the University of Southern Mississippi and an M.S. in Physical Education, Dance Place emphasizes the mind-body connection, believing dance cultivates creative thinking, intellectual growth, and cultural awareness. Mrs. Tracey has served as a dance education specialist for Hattiesburg Public Schools since 1997 and has coached the high school's dance team. Dance Place offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to nurture talent and build a strong foundation in various dance forms. Aspiring dancers can immerse themselves in the disciplined artistry of Ballet, the intricate rhythms of Tap, the energetic pulse of Hip Hop, and the dynamic expression of Jazz. The studio also provides opportunities to develop spectacular agility and strength through Acrobatics, and to explore emotional storytelling with the free-flowing nature of Contemporary dance. For younger students, introductory classes like Creative Movement and Ballet/Tap combinations are available, while older students can refine their technique. Lead Instructor Deidra Dent assists in providing a supportive and inspiring environment. Beyond technical proficiency, Dance Place aims to foster grace, coordination, poise, and self-discipline in every student, cultivating a love for dance that lasts a lifetime. The studio also offers Adult Cardio Tap for a fun and fitness-focused experience.
