Classes

Solos

Each year, our students submit solo proposals if they want to do a solo at the recital.Due to limited time we do not pick all solos that are submitted but this does not mean that we do not want to pick them. We only have so much time in each recital to fit in our dances and solo routines.

Preschool Combination Class (Ages 2-3 & 4-5)

Our preschool combo classes are a 45 min class that includes tap, ballet and tumbling. We develop an enjoyment of music and movement as well as a positive self-image as primary goals. Basic ballet/tap terms and steps are taught along with tumbling skills. These students will do 1 to 2 dances in the recital.

Mommy & Me

An introduction to dance for our very youngest dancers(ages: 19mos. - 2 1/2 years old). These classes are structured to stimulate coordination skills, listening skills, balance, music interpretation, creative movement and motor development in the youngest dancers. This program is an excellent introduction to the world of dance. A parent or guardian participation is required.

Elementary Combo

Our Elementary combo classes are 45 min classes that include ballet, tap and an introduction to jazz. Basic listening skills and following directions are emphasized while learning the basic fundamentals of ballet and tap.

Cheer

This class will focus on the basic fundamentals of cheer. This includes the following: motion technique, jumps, cheer dance, stunt technique and basic tumbling. This class will emphasize proper safety knowledge and techniques to ensure safe learning environment. We aim to increase self-confidence, movement memory, technical skills, endurance, strength, flexibility, and teamwork.

Tap

Tap is one of the oldest dance forms in this country. Students are taught rhythms, timing, and leg/foot coordination done to various types of music. Students will receive well-rounded knowledge of all types of tap.

Pointe

Dancers are asked by the teacher to join this class and they are at least 11 years old and have at least 2-3 years of ballet training. For the safety of the dancer, teacher recommendation is required for pointe shoes and they are looking for dancers with strong cores and ankle strength and dancers who are able to hold their ballet placement at barre and center.

Modern

This style teaches the body to move as an expressive tool; body/spatial/sensory awareness, structures and alignment, stage presence and gesture.

Jazz

Jazz is sharp and fluid movements to create a visually technical dance and style. It is usually done to popular music. Body isolations, stretch, turning, leaping and technical steps are taught in this class.

Hip-Hop

Hip Hop classes combine street dance with funk and jazz, similar to what you would see in televised dance performances or music videos. Students will learn the importance of isolations and dynamics to execute pop-and-lock and funk movements.

Boys Class

Intended for our male students only, this class covers the technique of jazz and the rhythm of tap. It is a positive environment for boys to explore and pursue a basic interest in dance.

Ballet

Ballet is the “backbone” of all dance training. In ballet the student will learn grace, elegance, technique, discipline, flexibility, stamina, and endurance. We strongly feel that ballet is the most important dance form that a child or adult can study. We offer Ballet for all ages and abilities.

Adult

Calling all Ladies and Gents… you’ve done for your kids all day long. Now do something FUN for yourself! Exercise, meet new friends, and laugh! These are only some of the reasons you should enroll in our Adult Dance Program. We offer a combination class that will teach the basics of tap, jazz and ballet. Participation in the recital is optional. So dust off your dancing shoes and come join us!

Aerial

This class is designed to teach you how to balance, use your core and arm muscles while staying close to the ground. You will learn basic skills in aerial fabric (also called aerial silks) and aerial hoop, how transition in and out of poses, and even go upside down!

Acro

Acro teaches strength, flexibility, and tumbling. Gymnastics skills include but are not limited to walkovers, limbers, handsprings, chest rolls, cartwheels/round offs, handstands, and more.
