About Feat x Feet

Feat x Feet, located in Whitefish, Montana, has been a cornerstone of tap dance education since its founding in 1997 by Ashley Mulcahy. Specializing exclusively in tap, Feat x Feet offers a rich performance tradition and comprehensive instruction for students aged four through adult. Mulcahy, a dedicated tap artist who studied with renowned legends nationwide, leads the studio. Feat x Feet provides a clear progression for aspiring dancers, preparing them for auditions for the pre-professional Feat x Feet Youth Tap Ensemble, the only company of its kind in Montana and one of twelve nationwide. This esteemed company, alongside its junior members, apprentices, and understudies, trains rigorously and performs annually in January and June. Members develop detailed dance knowledge and choreography skills, often earning educational tap scholarships and attending tap festivals. Notably, three members performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., in 2012. Since 2007, Feat x Feet has partnered with tap professional Derick K Grant to host an annual week-long tap festival and performance in Whitefish. The studio is committed to fostering athletic, rhythmic, and performance skills within a vibrant, supportive environment, while also actively engaging with the community, including donating dance space.
