While our offerings are diverse and evolving, The Studio Reno is a welcoming community center committed to nurturing minds, bodies, and spirits in a safe and relaxing atmosphere. Our team of talented instructors, led by Studio Owner Rachelle Lanning (RYT 500) and Studio Manager Kelly Aguilera (RYT 500), brings a wealth of expertise. Classes

Hot Vinyasa

This class is energizing and challenging with a strong emphasis on flow. The room is gently heated (85-95 degrees) and the class focuses on core strength, balance poses and inversions. Advanced and modified poses are offered for all levels. This class always comes back to an emphasis of breath moving the body and is heavily focused on alignment throughout movement.

Yin Yoga with Reiki Healing

A perfect compliment to a yang practice, yin yoga allows the practitioner to dive deeper into the body. Each yin yoga with Reiki healing class begins with centering breath work and meditation. Students will hold yin yoga postures for 3-5 minutes to allow for a deep connection with the body and spirit. Each yin yoga posture goes deeper than muscle and allows one to work with connective tissues. Each posture is seated and use of bolsters and props is recommended. Reiki energy will be used the entire class to allow for relaxation and healing on a deeper level.

Vinyasa Flow

This 60 minute flow class works to connect the body and breath while gently leaning into your edge. Get ready to energize your body as you challenge yourself through playful movement. All levels welcome and encouraged!

Power and Peace

This class has a steady pace to energize the body and build stamina. The body is kept moving throughout the practice linking movement with breath. Modifications will be available for the beginner to the more experienced student. Each class will begin with a centering meditation, leading to energizing vinyasa flows and end with a deep stretch floor sequence.

All Levels Flow

Unroll your mat for a thoughtful and mindful full body slow flow, focusing on the essence of yoga, which is the “yolking” or connection of the mind and body. Enjoy a foundational yoga class to work every muscle, linking breath to movement at a moderate, intuitive pace.This is an all-level class. Beginners can feel completely safe and supported. Challenges offered for the seasoned Yogi.

Dynamic Release Flow

Dynamic Release Flow is vinyasa (or flow) style yoga, integrating the presence of breath and sensation, along with deep self-myofascial release. Classes are inventive and thoughtful and the flow is silky and strong with a mix of sun salutations, standing & seated postures, back bending, and inversions – all guided by a steady breath and mindfulness. In the last 15 minutes of class, we go deeper into balancing the nervous system by doing self-myofascial release using tennis balls. The result is a heart-centering, body-opening, soul-expanding release. D.R.M will challenge you, illuminate you, and create an incredibly strong and resilient body and mind. Classes differ in tone and vigor. Best for students with a regular yoga practice.

Beginners Yoga

This class eases you into Yoga if you are a beginner, or back into Yoga if you have taken a break. We focus on basic postures with specific alignment, directing the attention in the postures, traditional sun salutations and breath between and during the postures. It is a welcoming class and an open format for Q & A is left after the class to address misunderstandings of Yoga.

Ashtanga Yoga

Mysore Yoga – Independent practice with instructor, hands on guidance and attention to special needs. In the Mysore room, students move through the ashtanga sequences at their own pace. The class is 2 1/2 hours in duration. This is a window of time in which you may begin and end your practice at your own convenience. The teacher, Carol, assists each individual privately in a group setting. You as a new student are encouraged and welcome to observe a class and/or reach out to Carol with any questions. Upon commitment, Carol will guide you through the postures until you are established and can carry yourself through by memory. This does not mean you are on your own after the initial phase. Once established, instruction and guidance continues, but becomes more refined. Support and specialized care are offered based on individual needs. It is typical for this method to be intimidating at first. However, it is a very natural way of learning and integrating the profound method of yoking mind, body, and spirit, which is yoga. Ashtanga uses the tristhana method: asana, breath and bandha, and dristi. With these tools, memorization does not take very long. The only requirement is a desire to learn and commitment to the process. Consistency is key. The Mysore style of learning takes the practitioner into a depth of yoga which may be difficult to experience in other class settings. This is precisely what makes it so special. We are mining for gold.
