About Dance Innovations Dance Center
Discover your passion for movement at Dance Innovations Dance Center, located in Greenland, New Hampshire. Since its inception, DIDC has been dedicated to providing high-quality dance education for individuals of all ages and skill levels. Our comprehensive curriculum spans over 6,000 square feet across three studios, featuring professional floating floors. We offer a diverse range of dance styles, including Pre-Dance, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Acro-Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Pre-Pointe, and Pointe. Programs are structured to nurture developing dancers from toddlers as young as 2 ½ through elementary, middle, and high school students, with specific classes like "Tiny Bop & Roll" and "Acro (Grades 6+)". We also provide specialized adult classes, engaging summer camps, and non-performing options. Dance Innovations fosters a positive and nurturing environment, building self-confidence, character, teamwork, creativity, and respect. Our YPAD certified faculty and background-checked, CPR-trained instructors are committed to inspiring and challenging students in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. For dedicated dancers, our competitive "Team DIDC Program" offers opportunities for personal best and participation in local performances and regional competitions. Classes run year-round from September through June, with flexible tuition and discounts available. Tap dancing is an American art form. It is a step dance tapped out audibly with hard soled shoes. It was born in the 1800s meshing a wide spectrum of percussive dance styles – African, English, Irish and Scottish. It teaches tempo and rhythm whether you like soft shoe or flash tap, whether you are 3 or 63! Tap is a part of our “Combo” classes (Tap & Ballet) for Tiny and Mini classes!
Pre-Pointe/Pointe
Pre-Pointe & Pointe
Pre-Pointe: Dancers must be at least 12 years of age and have completed extensive work in ballet to enroll in this class. Students who desire to one day go up on pointe will work on increasing coordination and posture, and strengthening their core, ankles, and feet. Pointe: Pointe is ballet performed in pointe shoes. Dancers must be at least 12 years of age and have completed extensive work in ballet and pre-pointe to enroll in this class. Students are admitted to go up on pointe when recommended by the pointe teacher. Students are evaluated on coordination, posture, strength, and feet. There is an inherent risk going up on pointe, therefore, we will only recommend those students who are developmentally ready to begin pointe work.

A fun and expressive class covering the variety of styles used in Broadway theater choreography. Dancers will work on developing a combination of jazz dance and theatre performance technique using music, props, narrative, and facial expression. A great class for those who just love to put on a show!
Modern
Modern
Often performed barefoot, Modern, is now more than 100 years old. Although similar to ballet in many ways, it uses movements that are freer and a more natural form of expressive dance. Dancers will explore a dynamic range of movement qualities, varying rhythm and timing while making artistic choices in the development of performance quality. Students will be encouraged to incorporate individual expression in their approach to movement theory and composition. Floor work, fall and recovery, and improvisation are key elements to a Modern class.

Ballet
Ballet started in ballrooms during the Renaissance where social dance had intricate floor-plans. Today, the classic dance form of ballet teaches strength, poise, and balance using specific terminology, technique, and choreography. Dancers are trained at the barre in order to develop correct posture and to prepare the body for the demands of classical dance. Benefits of Ballet: Ballet technique is used in all styles of dance. In their Ballet class, dancers will improve their posture, turnout, flexibility, strength and more! For introductory pre-ballet/creative movement classes, please see our 3-Week Mini-Sessions: Dancin’ Darlings (Toddler/Pre-K). Ballet is offered alone or as part of a combo class (tap & ballet) for all Tiny and Mini-leveled full-year classes.

This dance style combines simple gymnastics/acrobatics with jazz-dancing for a fast-moving, sportive class. It teaches flexibility, balance, strength, and coordination. Students will begin with basic stunts such as forward rolls, cartwheels, and beginner balances. More advanced students will continue to add to their repertoire with more advanced tumbling, balances, and partner lifts/stunts. Instructors follow the Acrobatic Arts syllabus.
LEVELED CLASSES
Classes for students in 6th Grade and above. These are leveled dance classes offering specialized training and technique development for older students.

It teaches flexibility, balance, strength, and coordination. DIDC Acro Instructors are certified by Acrobatic Arts and classes follow the Acrobatic Arts syllabus.
Mini-Combo II (Tap & Ballet)
This one-hour class will combine both beginning Ballet & beginning Tap for 1st/2nd grade age dancers. This class is geared toward improving basic motor skills, agility and rhythm. Dancers will perform both a Tap and Ballet dance in the annual recital.

A combination of beginning tumbling & hip hop dance skills are introduced for toddlers through kindergarten. This 45-minute class is geared toward improving basic motor skills, agility, & rhythm. Dancers will perform a Hip Hop dance in the annual recital.

Hip Hop is a dance style, usually danced to hip hop music, and includes a wide range of styles like breaking, locking, and popping. This class requires stamina, hard work, and a strong core. Students should be prepared for a challenging and rewarding class. Dancers will improve their musicality, strength, stamina, and more!

Pre-Pointe/Pointe I/II
Ballet Add-On Classes – available for those wishing to advance/progress “en pointe” (in addition to their regular Ballet class). —Pre-Pointe – Before beginning pointe work, a Ballet dancer must undertake many pre-pointe exercises to ensure they are strong enough to dance on pointe without injury. Dancers must be at least 12 years of age and have completed extensive work in ballet to enroll in this class. (Must be currently enrolled in Ballet II+). —Pointe – Pointe is ballet performed in pointe shoes. Dancers must be at least 12 years of age and have completed extensive work in ballet and pre-pointe to enroll in this class. Students are ONLY admitted to go up on pointe when recommended by the pointe teacher. Students are evaluated on coordination, posture, strength, and feet. It teaches flexibility, balance, strength, and coordination. DIDC Acro Instructors are certified by Acrobatic Arts and classes follow the Acrobatic Arts syllabus. Dancers in leveled Acro classes are required to be in either a ballet and/or jazz class in order to work on the dance-specific aspects of technique used for Acro. In order for dancers to get the most out of their Acro class, dancers need to have their fundamental dance technique covered in a ballet or jazz class.

Cheer dance class is a fun and energetic activity for kids. The class will focus on fundamentals of cheerleading and all the moves associated with it that help improve coordination, strength, flexibility, and endurance. It is a combination of Jazz and Hip Hop dance mixed with Cheer moves.

The camp concludes with a vibrant performance where dancers will show off what they learned with their families and friends!
Wicked Inspired Dance Camp
Step into the magical world of Wicked! Dancers will explore themes of friendship and ambition through enchanting choreography and creative crafts. Each day dancers will learn choreography to one of the movie’s iconic songs, hands-on crafts, and enjoy a snack a break. The camp will conclude with a special performance on the last day, where dancers will showcase their hard work and creativity for family and friends. Besties Dance Camp
Celebrate friendship at our Besties Dance Camp! Dancers will team up for exciting partner work, learning fun choreography that highlights teamwork and collaboration. Villains Dance Camp (Descendants)
Wanna chill like a villain? Come and celebrate your favorite villains in this fun-filled 4-day camp! Dancers will have daily dance classes where they will learn choreography, make crafts, enjoy snacks, and more. What’s up, party people!? Let’s get into ‘dance mode’ in this energetic 4-day dance camp filled with dance classes, games, crafts, and more – inspired by your favorite Australian Heelers: Bluey, Bingo, Muffin, and family.
Surf’s Up Dance Camp
Dive into the magic of Disney’s water-themed movies at our Surf’s Up Dance Camp! Dancers will explore the worlds of Moana 2, Lilo & Stitch, The Little Mermaid, and Finding Nemo through exciting choreography inspired by these films. DIDC’s Dollhouse
Step into the world of magic and fun at our DIDC’s Dollhouse, inspired by Gabby’s Dollhouse! Dancers will learn playful and imaginative choreography inspired by Gabby and her friends. Campers will also enjoy creating colorful crafts, having snack time, and sharing the fun with their favorite squishies and stuffies, which they’re welcomed to bring to camp! DIDC Summer Dance Intensive
ALL TEAM MEMBERS are required to keep up their dance skills over the summer. All Team Members MUST attend a minimum of SIX/EIGHT/TEN (depending on their level) Days of the DIDC Summer Dance Intensive.
