About Hayden School of Ballet

Hayden School of Ballet, established in 1960 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has been a cornerstone of dance education for nearly sixty years. This esteemed institution offers professional dance instruction for children and adults, fostering a warm, caring, and creative atmosphere. Our comprehensive programs are thoughtfully designed to nurture imagination, self-esteem, discipline, and focus, instilling valuable life skills alongside artistic growth. We provide dedicated children's classes from ages three to twelve, offering individual attention through limited enrollment and carefully planned syllabi that align with physical, mental, and emotional development. For older students and adults, we offer ballet and jazz classes, promoting confidence, health, and grace. Hayden School of Ballet is committed to creating a secure, professional environment where every student can develop strength, coordination, and confidence. Our curriculum builds a strong foundation for safe and injury-free training, starting with Creative Dance for the youngest learners, fostering body awareness and enthusiasm through storytelling and music. Pre-Ballet introduces basic ballet vocabulary, while Beginning Ballet for ages seven to twelve delves into classical ballet technique with progressive development. Recognizing the importance of diverse disciplines, we also offer Jazz instruction. Special programs include pre-pointe and pointe classes, preparing students for advanced work. Adults can also enjoy dynamic barre classes for fitness. Our talented staff includes instructors Celia Dale (ballet, pointe, performance), Michelle Vaughn (jazz), Romy Keegan (children's ballet), and Jo Wiseman (adult beginning ballet), all dedicated to fostering a passion for dance across all ages and levels within the Albuquerque community.
