Contact Improvisation is an exploration of the kinesthetic possibilities of bodies moving through contact, where participants learn to discover and develop agency with their own sense of risk and safety, trust and boundary; rather than depending on outside authorities telling them how, where, and when to move. Sometimes wild and athletic, sometimes quiet and meditative, it is a dance of intimacy (physical closeness) and expression that involves exploration of the fundamentals of sharing weight, consent, touch, being kinetically aware, and following a shared, rolling point of contact between partners. All levels of experience are welcome!
