Moving Arts Espanola

Adult Folklorico is a great opportunity to try something new, get your body moving, and have some fun. Students will learn to command the stage while discovering the rich history of Mexican Folk Dance along with the influences that make it the vibrant art form you see today.

Students who have shown dedication and skill to advance are invited to join. Folklorico III students have more opportunities to perform what they have learned. Self awareness and collaboration are key as this class focuses on the performative aspect necessary to captivate audiences.

In Folklorico II students expand upon basic footwork and are challenged to learn dances with more difficult choreography and skirt work. Collaboration and self awareness is key, and students learn valuable skills such as self discipline that will assist throughout their life.

Folklorico I teaches the footwork necessary to begin and advance the dancer’s Folklorico training. Students expand their physical ability while learning challenging choreography, footwork patterns. Students perform in front of a large audience, learn to work with other dancers, and shine on stage.

Flamenco III is for students who have experience with intricate footwork and works toward developing the dancer’s performative skills. Students in this class are offered more opportunities to perform and often perform outside of Moving Arts

This class challenges students to increase their ability through intricate footwork and the development of their own artistic expression. This class provides dancers with an outlet to express themselves and helps them to gain confidence.

In the Flamenco I class students begin to learn basic Flamenco footwork and the traditions of Flamenco. Rhythm and self expression are cultivated and physical ability is built upon to prepare students to confidently perform and prepare for the next level.

Hip Hop II builds upon the skills learned in Hip Hop I and develops physical strength and confidence to execute more challenging moves. Students often perform outside of Moving Arts and leave uplifted and supportive of each and every dancer in the class.

Students develop a foundation of strength and gain the confidence to execute basic movements. Hip Hop is an engaging and highly energetic class where students leave with a strong sense of self and a pride in their own physical strength.

Ballet III is ideal for experienced dancers or teens and adults starting Ballet. The class emphasizes proper alignment and technique, helping students hone fundamentals, build confidence, and develop flexibility and strength. Ballet slippers recommended.

Ballet II expands on Ballet I technique, focusing on body alignment, self-awareness, and confidence. Guided by experienced instructors, students develop skills like accountability and self-discipline that benefit them in life. Ballet slippers recommended.

Ballet I offers rigorous training with bar and floor work, helping dancers develop confidence and fundamental ballet techniques throughout the semester. Though not required, ballet slippers are recommended.

Pre-Ballet offers young dancers a blend of creativity, imagination, and the beginnings of structured ballet training, providing an excellent start to their ballet journey and performance experience. Though not required, ballet slippers are recommended.

In Creative Ballet, tiny tots explore music through movement, develop physical skills, and use their energy positively, while cultivating creativity and imagination, and getting the opportunity to perform on stage. Though not required, ballet slippers are recommended.
