Acting for Dancers is a class for dancers to improve their acting skills by teaching them basic stage directions, basic acting techniques, and how to portray different emotions. This 45 minute class will be broken into two sections. The first half will be an acting lesson. In the second half, a dance combination will be taught where the focus will be on the acting and expressions of the dancers. This class is perfect for the dancer that loves to be on stage!

Industry is a style of hip hop that involves big movement and lots of swagger. Besides learning combinations to upbeat hip hop music, students will also be introduced to hip hop improvisation and performance. The proper attire for this class is street wear and clean sneakers.

A hip hop dance class that is done in stilettos. Dancers are encouraged to wear a comfortable pair of non slip high heeled shoes. Movements are sassy, empowering and at times suggestive.

These classes focus on skill building for cheerleaders. Jumps, motions, cheer & dance execution, and stunting skills are the primary focus of these classes.

This class incorporates a number of dance styles including pom, lyrical, jazz, high-kick and hip-hop. The dancers are taught high energy, disciplined routines, using pom poms, and other props at times. This class is geared for the dancer who is interested in competition performances and will prepare them for the audition process as well.

A musical mix of Broadway show tunes and movie themes, this class gives the dancer the SPOTLIGHT and theatrical opportunities. Different styles and eras of dance are introduced into this class offering a fun mix of theatre and jazz dancing.

This class focuses on the technical aspects of dance. Students will develop core body control, practice and perfect a variety of turn sequences, develop strong foot and hand articulation, and receive strength training. Proper technique and execution of all jumps and turns will be learned separately, followed by short traveling combinations incorporating movement at a more advanced level. Each class new Jumps, kicks, turns, leaps, and stretching exercise are introduced. This class is perfect for students desiring to excel in dance.

A mixture between ballet and jazz. The Dance Space uses Martha Graham and Cunningham methods while combining contemporary styles of movement and choreography. Each dancer will gain an understanding of the body and movement.

A HIGH ENERGY CLASS where each dancer learns the fundamentals and origins of hip hop. This form of dance requires the student to be extremely rhythmic and coordinated. This class is not offered at many studios and closes out very quickly. If you are interested in African/Reggae please contact the studio ASAP.

Hip Hop is a style of dance that appeared in New York City in the early 70’s. Hip Hop is very popular class here at The Dance Space. We take pride in our “new and young” choreography and always use age appropriate music, lyrics and movements. This is the perfect class for any dancer young or old!

The Combo class is a half hour of ballet and a half hour of Tap. This class is only available for children ages 3 – 6 years old. It teaches each dancer the fundamentals of ballet and tap and prepares them for future training.

Join our energetic, educational, and unique mommy & me class! This 45 minute class focuses on teaching young children coordination and the fundamentals of a dance class. The benefits to a “mommy and me” class are endless!!!! Nurture your child’s music ability! They will sing and dance along to their favorite songs, and learn new ones.They will be introduced to tap and ballet dance which is great for early development! They learn rhythm games, instrument play, dance, and creative movement!You will play a major role in your child's musicality and rhythmic environment both in class and at home.Create special memories with your child that will not be forgotten!

Tap is a dance form that is loved by all ages! It was developed in the United States during the 19th Century. The name TAP comes from the tapping sound made with the metal plates on the shoes. The Encyclopedia Britannica definition for tap dance is: “A style of American theatrical dance using precise rhythmical patterns of foot movement and audible foot tapping.”

This Class consists of developmental exercises and an understanding of process to build correct alignment, mechanical fundamentals and musicality in classical ballet. Each dancer will learn ballet terminology as well understand correct posture placement.

On October 3rd 2010 The Dance Space welcomed the New York Jets Flight Crew Dancers ! The famous NY Jets Dancers came to The Dance Space to teach a complimentary class to 20 lucky PT Dancers. The Jets Dancer taught a wonderful workshop including a warm up, and actual choreography from the NY Jets Halftime SHOW! We are constantly looking to introduce our Performance Troupe Dancers to new and exciting choreography, dance styles and experiences. At the end of the workshop she explained the Flight Crew audition process and encouraged all the girls to audition when they are of age! The Jets dancer was so impressed with our dancers and their talent! She said “ The girls did great! They caught onto the choreography and I was really impressed! DANCE LIKE A JET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT JOB TO ALL OUR PT DANCERS! And a very special thank you to the NY JETS Dance Crew

The Dance Space LTD is proud to announce that our dancers were selected to dance at the world renowned Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre this November 21st 2010. Ten PT or “performance troupe” dancers were chosen to participate in this workshop. Each dancer will be given the opportunity to take a 90 minute dance with an Alvin Ailey’s staff and a tour of the breathtaking Ailey Studios, the home of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater . We are very proud of our dancers! Great Job girls!

The Theatre Jazz and Broadway classes were invited to a Stage Performance Workshop with Actor/Comedian/ Professional Clown Mark Gindick! Great Job to all our ACTORS and DANCERS!

The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre grew from the now fabled performance in March 1958, at the 92nd Street Young Men's Hebrew Association in New York. Led by Alvin Ailey and a group of young African-American modern dancers, that performance changed forever the perception of American dance.

The Dance Space LTD is proud to announce that our dancers were selected to dance at the world renowned Martha Graham studio in Manhattan. Thirtheen PT Dancers were chosen to participate in this workshop. Each dancer will be given the opportunity to take a 90 minute dance with the Graham Staff in their breathtaking studios. We are so PROUD to offer such wonderful opportunities to our dancers!

Thirty six PT ballerina's (ages 10-18years old) were invited to participate in this workshop. Each dancer will be given the opportunity to take a 90 minute dance with the Joffrey Staff in their breathtaking studios. We are so PROUD to offer such wonderful opportunities to our dancers!

On February 16th our advanced dancers took a Heels Master Class at TDS with Shirlene Quigley! Shirlene is a celebrity dancer/instructor. She currently teaches at BDC and the Ailey school. She has performed all over the world at arenas world wide touring with some of the biggest stars of our generation, dancing on television, commercial, film, and in Music videos with artists such as Beyonce, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Destiny's Child, Missy Elliot, Mary J Blige, Jamie Foxx, Ray J, PorcelainBlack, Lil Romeo, Ashanti, Fantasia, and many more! Thank you Shirlene!!!! The workshop was such a special treat for our girls!!

On November 17th The Dance Space took a Master Class with the celebrity acclaimed Choreographer Ryan Miller. He has worked with Lizzo, Rihanna and Madonna,. We are so thrilled at TDS to offer such wonderful programs to our students. Our girls did an excellent job! It was an amazing and an AMAZING EXPERIENCE!

On November 16th The Dance Space took a Master Class with the celebrity acclaimed Choreographer Dana Alexa.. He has worked with Kat Deluna, Wiz Khalifa, and Tyga. She has performed/choreographed with The NYC Knicks dancers,Bravos RHONJ, Radio Disney Music Awards, and So you think you can dance! We are so thrilled at TDS to offer such wonderful programs to our students. Our girls did an excellent job! It was an amazing and an AMAZING EXPERIENCE! At The Dance Space we are all about challenging our students to new and exciting things! Friday, February 26th the advanced modern class took a yoga workshop. We had an awesome time! Thank you to Breathe and Flow Yoga of Freeport for this wonderful workshop! We had a BLAST!

On Saturday, October 18th our PT Advanced troupe took a field trip to the world renowned Broadway Dance Center in Manhattan. Our dancers had the option of taking 2 classes Jazz or Hip Hop. Both dance classes were taught by famous choreographers and were very welcoming to our girls. Our dancer's eyes were opened to what it means to be a "professional" dancer and LOVED it.

On Saturday, November 19th The Dance Space LTD is proud to announce that our dancers were invited to a Master Class at the Alvin Ailey Dance Companyl! . Forty reggae dancers (ages 10-18years old) were invited to participate in this workshop. Each dancer will be given the opportunity to take a 90 minute dance with the Ailey Staff in their breathtaking studios. We are so PROUD to offer such wonderful opportunities to our dancers!

The Broadway stars taught a wonderful workshop including a warm up, and actual choreography from the SHOW! The Broadway stars taught a wonderful workshop including a warm up, and actual choreography from the SHOW! We are constantly looking to introduce our Performance Troupe Dancers to new and exciting choreography, dance styles and experiences. It was an amazing and an AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Thank you to the cast of Mean Girls!!

On Saturday, October 12th The Dance Space took a Master Class with the principle dancer. Ask La Cour from the New York City Ballet. The talented ballet dancer taught an inspirational class to our students! He shared his talent, his wisdom and his passion for dance with us all. It was a truly magical experience which included Barre work, across the floor and an adiago. The class took place in the Rose Building Rehearsal space in Lincoln center.

On Saturday Nov 2nd The Dance Space took a Master Class with Amelia Collins, formally of the NYC Knicks City Dancers!! The talented dancer taught an inspirational class to our students! She shared her talent, wisdom and passion for dance with us all. It was a truly magical experience which included fierce and fabulous choreography. The class took place at TDS studios! We are constantly looking to introduce our Performance Troupe Dancers to new and exciting choreography, dance styles and experiences. It was an amazing and an AMAZING EXPERIENCE!

On October 21st TDS welcomed Broadway Dancer and Choreographer Stephanie Klemons. Stephanie Klemons is best known for her choreography for the NEW HIT SHOW BRING IT ON! She came to TDS to teach an intensive to our PT DANCERS! Her intensive included a warm up, cool down and choreography from The Broadway Show BRING IT ON!! Miss Stephanie was impressed with our dancers and their dedication to dance! On Sunday, October 20th 2013 The Dance Space welcomed the NY BROOKLYNETTES DANCERS ! The famous Dancers came to The Dance Space to teach a class to our lucky PT Dancers. The BROOKLYNETTES taught a wonderful workshop including a warm up, and actual choreography from the BROOKLYNETTES Halftime SHOW! We are constantly looking to introduce our Performance Troupe Dancers to new and exciting choreography, dance styles and experiences. At the end of the workshop they explained the BROOKLYNETTES audition process and encouraged all the girls to audition when they are of age! The Brooklynettes dancers were so impressed with our dancers and their talent!

On November 5th 2017 The Dance Space welcomed the New York Jets Flight Crew Dancers ! On Tuesday, December 10th 2013 selected PT dancers were invited to a workshop with the Famous Radio City Rockettes. The class was held at the Rockettes Rehearsal Studio in Radio City Music Hall. Besides taking the class each dancer was awarded with a complimentary orchestra ticket to The Christmas Spectacular Rockettes Show! The workshops consisted of warm ups and actual Rockette Choreography. The also included a famous Rockette kick Line, from the Christmas Spectacular! What a great experience for our TDS Dancers! This is an event they will remember forever! A perfect way to Kick off the Holiday Season!
