Terry Perrone Dance Studio

Terry Perrone is an excellent dance instructor. His position and stance on the dance floor inspires one to dance as a true ballroom dancer. He is a patient teacher and teaches to one’s level, leaving much time for the acquiring of new steps and patterns. I would highly recommend him as a ballroom dance instructor to all levels of dancers, from beginners to advanced.

I began taking dance lessons with Terry Perrone at the East Area YMCA one year ago. I had absolutely no ballroom dance experience and Terry thought that I would run away after my first dance lesson. Yet, thanks to his patience and attention I have come a long way since then.

Terry is a great teacher, whether it is mambo, foxtrot, argentine tango, or anything in between. I had fun learning and meeting new people. It is good exercise and great therapy for the mind!

Terry tailors lessons to the interests and ability of the students and brings out the best in us all. He was very patient and encouraging. He took the time to explain all the details and to work on fundamentals like posture, balance, and control. He gives all of his students, regardless of age or dance experience, the same amount of attention. He patiently and meticulously teaches each pattern. Each time he re-teaches the pattern he adds a little more styling.

Terry’s open Monday night group lessons are a great bargain. He teaches the basics at a comfortable pace, yet offers new tips and stylizing for the more experienced dancers. He is willing to work with each of the students at their own pace and build on skills each week.
