From 2015 until 2017 Sandra worked as a dance specialist onboard Celebrity Cruises where she also was an instructor and choreographer.

She worked at Pau Brasil Cabaret and danced French Cancan at the Eiffel Tower.

In 2008, she moved to Japan with the company “Shima Spain Mura” to dance the principal roles of a classic jazz show.

Born in 1984 in Valencia, Spain, Sandra Tomás Roig began dancing at the age of 6, ballet, flamenco, commercial dance, Latin dance, and acrobatic rock.

In 2011, he created the hip hop dance group the Barrio Toys, which went on to win various awards at many different dance competitions such as the United States Tournament of Dance, American Dance Awards, and Starpower.

Geraldo was also part of the Wild West Mambo Dance Company, directed by Yolanda Soto, participating in many Salsa & Bachata Congresses around the world.

In addition, he served as a jazz, hip hop and reggaeton instructor for several schools, including the Western Ballet Theater with director and choreographer Maria “Nana” Badrena.

Geraldo also trained in Salsa with the Mambo King Mr. Eddie Torres.

The artistic director and choreographer, Miguel Malavé, hired him to be part of his staff as jazz instructor.

Since February 2024, she has lived in Ithaca, New York, working with Salsa Ithaca in its cultural events, classes, workshops and performance.

His “Suelta” (loose) instruction develops choreographic arrangement in line dance format and aims to provide both a workout and great moves for the dance floor.

Partnered classes combine open step arrangements (“shines”) with partnered turn patterns and guided social dance practice.

Michael began teaching Salsa in the Ithaca and Finger Lakes area in 2005. His instruction emphasizes rhythm, timing, music flow, body expression, lead-follow connection, confidence-building and having fun.

Bachata is a music and social dance form with origins in bolero, and made widely popular in the Dominican Republic. Its slow tempo, high pitch and pop creates a distinct sensual feel. Like Salsa, Bachata works off of a three-four step timing and relies on strong lead-follow connection. In this series, students will learn to recognize the classic 4/4 measure of Bachata, and build a foundational repertoire and techniques including lead-follow communication, timing, footwork, body movement, frame and posture.

This series introduces Casino, aka Cuban Salsa, preparing new and experienced dancers alike for a journey into one of the world’s most dynamic social dances. The areas of focus are: 1) Posture, body movement, and style; 2) Rhythm, coordination, and projection; 3) Basic step, variations, dance positions, and movement; and 4) Core figures. Once students have achieved these objectives, they will be ready to progress to the next level, where more complex and stylish content will be introduced. They will also be well-prepared to dance correctly and elegantly in social settings. Three levels are offered: 1, 2, and 3.

These classes prioritize grace, poise, and personal expression within various Latin dance genres. The emphasis is on developing confidence, flair, and the distinctive, stylized movements that characterize a feminine approach to dance.

In our beginner percussion classes, participants will learn drumming and percussion technique, drawing on traditional and contemporary Afro-Cuban rhythms. These rhythms are rooted in the traditions of the West African slaves brought to Cuba and the Caribbean starting in the 17th century, and continuing through most of the 19th century. Some of the rhythms we learn maintain close similarity to their African antecedents, while others are more uniquely Cuban, Haitian, and Caribbean, influenced by the mix of African cultures as well as indigenous islanders and Europeans.
