Classes

Advanced Ballet

This class is for students with strong knowledge, understanding and the ability to execute correct technique and placement. Pointe Work and Repertory Classes are included in a 4-day per week schedule, and students are committed to deepening their understanding of ballet technique consistently and responsibly. While not the goal of every advanced student, the class is designed to prepare a student for a professional career in classical ballet.

Ballet V: Advanced Intermediate

Ballet V students have completed at least two years of Ballet IV. Often pointe work will begin at this level. Dancers are preparing for Advanced Ballet technique. Attendance to all three classes per week is required.

Ballet IV: Intermediate Ballet

Ballet IV signifies a jump to a higher level of training in both development of coordination and execution of form. In Ballet IV we move from the “fundamental” levels of ballet into the challenge of more intricate steps and patterns, requiring higher degrees of flexibility, coordination, strength, musicality and performance. Additionally, an emphasis is placed on exercises designed to develop the strength and coordination required for future pointe work, which for many students begins during their 1- 3 years in this level. By their second year of Ballet IV, a student benefits from a strong commitment to classes. Attendance is required 3 days per week.

Ballet III: Fundamentals 2

In Ballet III, students begin to take their training to a more serious level. A deeper understanding and execution of detailed ballet steps and concepts becomes the focus, with a large emphasis on increasing ballet vocabulary. Development of strength, grace, and flexibility in preparation for pre-pointe work.

Ballet II: Fundamentals I

In Ballet II, students progress in both classical vocabulary of movement, and also in the focused discipline that will prepare them for the increased demands of Ballet III. Students are required to attend two days per week at this level.

Ballet I-B: Beginner Ballet-2nd yr.

Students progress to Ballet I-B when their coordination, ability to focus and follow direction advances to a level in which they are able to enjoy a full hour class, where difficulty of patterning increases and more intricate beginner steps are introduced.
