Charlotte Performing Arts Academy

The CPAA Kidz Crew is a competitive Hip Hop group that attends one Hip Hop Convention and competes in three competitions in North and South Carolina throughout the season. They participate in the annual CPAA NutCraker: Remix and perform multiple dances at the CPAA Spring Recital.

Technique Classes for dancers that will audition for the Dance Company and Kidz Crew.

Focus on flexibility, stamina, balance, and challenge yourself to master new technical elements in our Turns and Jumps Intensive. Jumps and turns can vastly improve the serious dancer’s technique. This intensive will help dancers learn the proper technique used in jumps and turns which will enhance their skills. Students will be divided by ages and skill level.

Are you looking to execute/improve your handstands, back walkovers, aerials, back handsprings, back tucks, and more? Use these skills to improve and enhance your dancing. This camp will include using the proper stretches and will give you time to repeatedly work on these skills in a longer amount of time than an hour-long class. Students will be divided by ages and skill level.

Working on your tap and hip hop technique is a must! We will combine two different styles to create a fun and energetic camp for our dancers. Students will be divided by ages and skill level.

The Jazz & Hip Hop Choreography Camp is designed for the students to learn from the choreography process as we teach them HOW to create their own choreography vision. Enjoy a full day of creativity and learning different methods to compose choreography works on your own. Their routines will be recorded for them to show off and enjoy with family and friends!

This camp is aimed to prepare dancers for the following week of auditions for the CPAA Kidz Crew. Dancers will learn the combinations that will be taught at the audition in advance so that they have time to prepare themselves for the following week.

Calling all dancing princesses! Bring your favorite princess Dollies along with you. Together, you will travel and dance throughout the castles, create glittering crafts for both you and your princess Dollie, and meet a real Princess! You don't want to miss this ballet and tap dance camp!

Geared towards ages 8-13, dancers will learn many of the most popular Tik Tok dances, mixed with fun hip hop tricks and skills. This Summer Camp will allow students to learn and create, exploring their imagination and strengthening their technique through dance!

Are you looking to strengthen your ballet technique? Spend a week with CPAA ballet instructors as your dancer works on strengthening their ballet foundation. This program is designed to improve technical proficiency, strength, classical variations and versatility. Students will be divided by ages and skill level.
