Tinies Dance Company

Tinies Dance Company is designed for young dancers, with an average age of 5-7, who aspire to be part of the Competitive Dance Company. This program offers a fun experience to prepare young dancers for the competition stage, covering a range of styles including Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Musical Theater, Ballet, and Technique classes.

Elite Dance Company

Elite Dance Company is designed for the more serious dancer. These dancers train more hours a week and in many styles. These styles range from Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Musical Theater, Clogging, Acro, Ballet, and Technique classes.

Competitive Company

Competitive Company caters to dancers who are new to competitive dance. Dancers are introduced to a variety of technique classes and dance styles, while spending fewer hours at the studio compared to Elite Dance Company. These styles include Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Musical Theater, Clogging, Acro, Ballet, and Technique classes. This program is designed for those seeking a pathway to the Elite Level Dance Company.

ACRO Dance

Comprehensive training from beginners to advanced, in all aspects. This includes cartwheels, round-offs, walkovers, handsprings, intricate passes, aerials and much more.

Preschool Dance

Discover the joy of movement and rhythm with our Preschool Dance program. Designed for young dancers, this class is perfect for beginners.

All Boys Hip Hop

Lyrical

Lyrical dance is a fusion of ballet and jazz dance. This style is generally a little more fluid than ballet and also somewhat faster although, not as rapidly executed as jazz dance. Lyrical dancing is performed to music with lyrics to inspire movements to express strong emotions that the choreographer feels from the lyrics in the chosen song.

Contemporary

Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern , jazz , lyrical and classical ballet . Contemporary dance stresses versatility and improvisation and is often done barefooted. Contemporary dance can be performed to many different styles of music. Dancers work to connect their movements and emotions to the music using both fluid and sharp movements. Dancers focus on increasing their strength and musicality.

Leaps & Turns

This class will be focused on teaching the dancers proper technique. This class will incorporate bar work as well as sequences across the floor.

Musical Theatre

Musical Theater is a style of dance primarily seen on Broadway stages. This broad style of dance uses elements of styles such as jazz, tap, and ballet while the primary focus is on facial expressions and performance. Acting exercises are used in addition to dance technique exercises

Competitive Co.

Carolina Dance Productions offers competitive dance opportunities for dancers ages 5 and up and all levels. Competitive Company is designed for the more serious dancer. These dancers train more hours a week and in many styles. These styles range from Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Musical Theater, Clogging, Acro, Ballet, and Technique classes. Competitive Company dancers compete on the regional and national level while also attending conventions in the greater southeast area. Carolina Dance Productions’s Competitive Company members have won awards over the years such as Entertainment, Choreography, Judge’s Specialty and Highest Score of the Day Awards.

Tumble

Dance Play

An introduction to ballet and basic classroom procedure. Dance Play is great for improving motor skills, coordination, balance, and gaining a sense of rhythm.

Hip Hop

This class is high-energy and fun for both boys and girls who want to learn a style influenced by some of the today’s hottest video choreographers. Hip Hop is a freestyle dance form that evolved from break-dance, street dance, urban and jazz into one of the most popular forms today. Classes include conditioning and warm-up, the simplified breakdown of each step, skill combinations and choreography. All moves and music are age appropriate and level specific.

Pom Dance
pom rental fee of $25 for the year

This has been known in the past as our Cheer Dance class. Dancers will learn level changes, crisp sharp movement with a jazz style and intricate formations. There will be a “pom” rental fee of $25 for the year as well as a required shoe ( black jazz slip on boot )

Clogging

Fun, energetic freestyle dance characterized by double time stomping and tap steps. It resembles tap dance, however traditionally the upper body is held straight and upright.

Pointe

For the more advanced ballet student, Pointe is offered. With a strong technical background, students are attired with Pointe shoes to learn barre, center floor and various combinations with emphasis on body alignment and strength. (Pointe is not offered before the age of 10)

Ballet

A class designed to develop grace, flexibility, and coordination. It teaches classical ballet techniques, which include barre work, ballet stretches, center floor work, variations, body alignment, proper placement, and posture. Ballet provides a foundation for all other forms of dance as well as conditioning for sports and injury prevention.

Jazz

A stylized technique based class that emphasizes long lines and musicality. As an ever-changing art form, jazz encompasses many forms of technique from contemporary to musical theater. The class focuses on flexibility, strength, turns, leaps and jazz choreography. Jazz is specifically used to teach personal expression and help dancers find their personal style and voice, as well as body control and awareness.

Tap

A class designed to enhance the coordination of the ankles and feet, by striking the floor in a rhythmic fashion. It teaches center floor work and progress in tapping with clarity, speed, style and knowledge of terminology.

Contemporary

Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet.
