Nestled in Mooresville, North Carolina, the Academy of Dance and Fine Arts (ADFA) has been a cornerstone of dance education for over 40 years. Founded in 1977 by Karen Brown-Deese and now under the ownership and artistic direction of Sadie Roberts-Doughten, a seasoned instructor with over 30 years of experience, ADFA continues its legacy of exceptional dance instruction. Sadie, who studied with renowned dance icons, brings a wealth of professional credits and a deep passion for nurturing young talent. The studio offers a diverse range of disciplines including Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Ballroom, Lyrical, Modern, Musical Theater, and Acrobatic classes, catering to all ages and skill levels. For the 2025/26 fall season, company classes commence on August 18, 2025, followed by recreational, beginner silks, and dance team classes on September 2, 2025, hinting at a comprehensive curriculum that may include aerial arts. ADFA is dedicated to fostering technique, creativity, and passion in a supportive and inspiring environment, emphasizing emotional development, confidence-building, self-discipline, and respect.
