Classes

Lyrical/Contemporary

Contemporary blends several types of dancing into its own unique style. They include elements of ballet, jazz, modern and even hip hop. It is often compared to Lyrical, and there are similarities, but with Lyrical there is a stronger emphasis on classical ballet. Its focus is interpreting music through emotional expression while combining with technical dance forms mentioned above. These classes also include leaps, turns, partnering, lifts and floor work.

Musical Theater

Musical theater is a great class for those who are not shy! Musical theater is the fusion of singing, dancing, acting and telling a story on stage. The level of challenge fits the needs of the group so that the experience is a positive one for all. It is so fun to watch students build their confidence as they build their skills for the stage!

Clogging

Clogging is America's official folk dance and another great class to get your feet moving! It builds on a strong understanding of rhythm, thereby laying a great foundation for all percussive dance forms. It combines elements of tap, folk and line-style dances. Join us to enhance your physical fitness, boost your endurance and discover the lively rhythms of clogging!

Hip Hop

Over the years Hip Hop has become very popular and the style of this dance favorite is the pinnacle of self-expression. It is a high-energy and athletic style of dance and is very popular and fun for our students. Dancers benefit from increased coordination and endurance, rhythm, strength and personal style. These classes are set to popular hip hop music that dancers love! *We offer this class to 6-year-olds with two years prior dance experience or at age 7 for first-time students.

Baton

In this class students will learn baton terminology, basic twirling skills while developing hand-eye coordination and marching. We focus on twirls, rolls and tosses using proper form and technique. Baton twirling can help students develop leadership skills, a good work ethic and learn to work with others. Becoming a baton twirler takes a lot of patience, dedication and determination...especially if you want to be one of the best!

Jazz

Jazz is a high-energy dance style which combines elements of classical ballet and modern dance to favorite and current music kids like to listen to. Our class focus is on body isolations, coordination of upper and lower body, rhythmic accuracy while building muscular strength and improving flexibility. Also included in this dance form are leaps, turns, fun combinations and trendy steps.

Tap

Tap is a popularFormal class that requires the dancer to create specific rhythms and patterns with the metal taps on the heels and toes of their shoes. Proper tap technique will be taught in a series of progressive levels. Classes include recital inspired dances from Broadway, Disney, Hip Hop and Punk Rock to rhythm tap. Students will be placed in classes according to age and experience. Our studio even has an awesome adult class!

Ballet

Ballet for ages 6 and up include learning dance positions, basic French terminology and barre and center floor work, establishing a solid foundation to become a dancer. As dance years go by, students advance and continue to progress into more challenging levels. Pointe work may begin on or around the age of 14, provided the dance student has adequate experience and shows readiness. We encourage all dancers, young and old, to take ballet as it will build strength, flexibility, proper alignment, balance, discipline and coordination.

Pre-Ballet

Starting early with a ballet classes for beginners will help your child feel at ease as they start to learn the basics of ballet. This class encourages imagination, self-expression and group interaction while introducing basic ballet techniques, fundamental dance positions and musical concepts. Students will perform in our annual recital at the end of the dance season in late May or early June. It is here that a new dancer can begin to find their passion for ballet at an early age.

Gymnastics

Our gymnastics classes are strictly floor work along with a low balance beam that is used for the little one to practice balance. We work on forward and backward rolls, pencil rolls and cartwheels, all the way up to back hand springs, back tucks and aerials! Each class is assembled based upon age and experience. These classes range from 45 minutes to one hour.

Creative Movement

This 30-minute class helps students get comfortable in a classroom setting along with learning familiar and relatable songs and dances. The dance class combines music, imagination and movement to help students develop primary motor skills, coordination and the joy of self-expression. We play Ring Around the Rosie, the Hokey Pokey and similar interactive songs and sometimes with props! It's fun for the little ones!
