Askew Ballet Academy, nestled in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is dedicated to fostering confidence, poise, and discipline through comprehensive training in classical ballet and other dance styles. Utilizing the esteemed American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum, the academy prioritizes proper body alignment and muscle usage for safe technical development. Certified instructors, including Penny Askew, Charles, and Walker, provide superb instruction and personal attention, creating an encouraging atmosphere for dancers of all levels. From 'beginning ballerinas through pre-professional ballet' to those who 'just love to dance,' the academy offers multiple levels for students aged 3 through advanced teens. Specialized Intermediate-Advanced classes are available for dancers aged 12 and above with pointe experience. Additionally, Open Teen/Adult Ballet classes for ages 13 and older offer drop-in flexibility with class cards, fostering a supportive environment for serious students. Performance is a cornerstone, with all students participating in a year-end recital. Upper-level students can engage with Ballet Theatre of OKC, a pre-professional company, while younger students can also join productions. The Adult Ballet Collective, conceived by Sterlin Mosley, provides dedicated performance opportunities for adult students, showcasing their progress and artistry within the studio's community.
