Prairie Dance Theatre

This group was created to continue fostering the talents and desires of highly motivated students from our in-school program. Participants who show an increased interest and ability will be invited to attend the after-school program. All dancers who participate in this advanced training do so at no cost. The After-School program meets immediately after school at our partner school locations one day per week for 30 weeks during the school year. Dancers perform at the Festival of the Arts, as well as two annual performances open to the public.

PDT’s Saturday Program, Team IMPACT, is a small, traveling group of 15 dancers made up of Youth Company members and alumni. Those dancers who exhibit interest, motivation, passion, ambition, commitment, and talent are selected through an audition process. Team IMPACT is available for performances throughout the community ranging from festivals, special events, hospitals and elder care facilities.

A comprehensive, in-school dance program modeled after the pedagogy of the National Dance Institute. This program is currently offered to entire grade levels in the Oklahoma City area, free of charge to the partner schools and students. Classes meeting every day for 2 weeks, integrating core curriculum classes with the art of dance, interacting with classroom teachers and educators, with an in-school end of the program performance.

This program is currently offered to entire grade levels in the Oklahoma City area, free of charge to the partner schools and students. Spans an entire school semester, meeting one day per week, integrating core curriculum classes with the art of dance, interacting with classroom teachers and educators, with an in-school end of the program performance.

Spans August - March, meeting one day per week, integrating core curriculum classes with the art of dance, interacting with classroom teachers and educators, with in-school performances mid-year and end of the year.
