Creative & Creative/Tap

This introductory class combines elements of ballet, theatre, and gymnastics to build coordination, confidence, and creativity. Dancers will explore rhythm, music, and imaginative movement while learning the fundamentals of ballet. Students will be introduced to basic ballet vocabulary and positions (1st through 6th for both arms and feet), as well as foundational traveling steps such as chassés, ballet walks, skips, and leaps. To enrich their experience, dancers will also begin counting to ten in French—making learning both fun and educational! We’re going to take our Creative Dance class and put tap shoes on, teaching some of the basics of tap dancing to some of our youngest dancers! Tap shoes are required for this class.

Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre is Broadway style dance with an emphasis on character building and staying in character while on stage and throughout each piece. Students will learn both elements of Broadway dance and acting and drama techniques.

Tap III/IV

Building upon the foundations learned in tap level II, dancers will learn more advanced steps, increasing the tempo, and deepening the understanding of both the musicality and artistry of dance.

Tap I/II

Your dancer’s tap foundation will be set and developed in this class. We’ll learn the history and terminology of this dance style as well as rhythm and musicality. Level I Tap steps that will be built upon include Buffalo, Irish, Flap, quick clean shuffles and Maxie Ford. More advanced Level II dancers will learn more advanced steps, increasing the tempo, and deepening the understanding of both the musicality and artistry of dance.

Popping II

This advanced-level class focuses on refining foundational popping techniques while expanding movement vocabulary and control. Dancers will continue to develop core concepts such as “hitting” and explore directional movement, musicality, and freestyle application. Styles and techniques covered include Boogaloo, Tutting, and Animation. Emphasis is placed on personal expression, encouraging dancers to add their unique style and creativity to each movement.

Hip Hop III/IV

Pre-Hip Hop

This fun, high-energy class introduces young dancers to the fundamentals of hip-hop in an age-appropriate and engaging way. Students will explore basic elements of popping, breaking, house, and grooves while developing rhythm, timing, body control, and coordination. Dancers will build confidence, connect with their peers, and experience the joy of movement in a supportive and upbeat environment.

Open Acro
$20.00

Open Acro is a non-performing class which focuses only on acrobatic skills. The purpose of this class is to grow in new or existing acro skills, so that they can be applied into a performing class or dance piece.

Acro III

This class builds on the skills and tricks learned in Acro I and II.

Acro IIA & IIB

Flexibility, balance, strength, and coordination are all part of Acro. The skills and tricks learned in this class build upon the basic gymnastic elements learned in Acro I. These skills and tricks many done with a partner, team, or put into other dance classes for the further enhancement and fullness of each piece.

Acro IA & IB

Acro is an athletic and dynamic dance style that blends classical dance technique with acrobatic elements. This class focuses on developing flexibility, strength, balance, and coordination through progressive acro skills and conditioning. Dancers will learn individual tricks as well as partner and group-based movements, which may be integrated into choreography to enhance performance quality and add dimension to other dance styles. Students begin in Acro IA unless placed higher based on current skills.

Acro Dance

Acro is a very athletic style of dance with unique choreography that combines the techniques of classical dance with gymnastic-like elements, including tumbling.

Jazz III/IV

At this advanced level, dancers will build upon their technique with more complex leaps, multiple turns, advanced center work, and introductory stunts. They will be challenged with intricate combinations and encouraged to explore the theatricality and narrative elements of Jazz. The class also includes an introduction to the rich history and evolution of the style.

Jazz IIA & IIB

This class builds on the basis of classical Jazz dance while keeping an energetic, age-appropriate style. Building on level one, the dancer will learn stylistic elements as well as basic turns, jumps, and combinations.

Jazz I

This class focuses on building strong technical foundations with an emphasis on clean lines, turns, kicks, jumps, and flexibility. Dancers will develop coordination, stage presence, and musicality, all while learning fun and engaging choreography that showcases both precision and style.

Leaps & Turns Level IIB+

This technique-focused class is designed to help dancers build, refine, and master a variety of leaps and turns through proper sequencing, strength, and alignment. Emphasis is placed on body awareness, core engagement (both front and back), and initiating movement from the correct muscle groups for safe and effective execution.

Modern IIIA & IIIB/IV

In Modern III and IV classes, dancers will deepen their exploration of the concepts of time, energy, space and rhythm with continued learning of where each of the movements are coming from physically. Dancers will continue to learn about the history of modern dance and the heroes who have made it what it is today.

Modern IIA & IIB

In these classes, dancers will build upon the fundamentals learned in level I (exploration of time, space, energy, rhythm, and shape), while deepening their understanding of expression and artistry. Modern can be either lyrical or contemporary based upon the teacher’s choice and/or desire. Dancers will continue to learn more about the history of modern dance and the heroes who have made it what it is today.

Modern IA & IB

In this introductory class, dancers will explore the core elements of modern technique—time, space, energy, rhythm, and shape—while developing body awareness and understanding how movement is initiated. Through guided exercises and improvisation, students will build strength, creativity, and emotional expression. The class also includes an introduction to the history and pioneers of modern dance, offering context and inspiration for the movement explored. Modern IB is by placement only.

Pre-Modern

Young dancers are introduced to the beautiful art form that pushes the boundaries and ways of thinking dance should be. It was created out of the desire not to be perfect. It’s emotional, expressive and authentically beautiful. In Pre-Modern dancers will get their first look at the exploration of time, space, energy, rhythm, and shape while gaining an understanding of the body and how it moves.

Pointe I/II Placement

Building on the skills and exercises learned in pre-pointe, this class will take it to the next level. Pointe I does basic pointe work at the barre: plies, releves, eleves, tendus, soussous, echappe, etc. Moving into Pointe II dancers will move from one foot to two feet and work off the barre in center. Just as a ballet slipper fits to the foot and becomes one with it we are desiring this same thing with pointe shoes. Rather than it being clunky and disconnected we want them to feel the pointe shoe is an extension of their foot adding to the beautiful lines.

Ballet IV Placement

Moving from level III, the dancer will have continued barre expansion, center work and across the floor combinations in this three-times-a-week class. In level IV, expect demands of strength, range of motion, performance, etc. The dancers will be expected to use expression and artistry throughout their movement. Pointe I/II will be offered following this class on Monday and Wednesday. Please register separately for this addition. Those planning to take Ballet III/IV one day a week on Saturday for Advanced Technique are asked to register separately for this class.

Ballet III Placement

Moving forward from level II, the dancer will have continued barre expansion, center work and across the floor combinations in this three-times-a-week class. In level III, expect demands of strength, range of motion, performance, etc. The dancers will be expected to use expression and artistry throughout their movement. Pointe practice will happen at the end of class. Those planning to take Ballet III one day a week on Saturday for Advanced Technique are asked to register separately for this class.
