Online BA Requirements/Assessment Audition: Student must submit three out of four demonstrations (30 seconds-1 minute) featuring: A variety of ballet exercises in center, across the floor, or a ballet combination showcasing abilities in turns, leaps, and/or petite allegro. A variety of modern combinations showcasing traveling through space, jumps, turns, use of torso (not upright), and/or floorwork. A variety of jazz combinations showcasing isolations, turns, jumps, and clarity of movement. Alternative Option - students can submit a fourth solo in any genre, whether it be a cultural dance form, hiphop, tap, or other.

A Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Choreography at Seton Hill provides a lasting foundation for movement artists that want to understand production, think critically about the connection between dance and audience, expand their boundaries through movement creation, and graduate with strong artistic experiences leading to a life-long pursuit of working with dance.

Online BFA Choreography Requirements: Student must submit three out of four demonstrations (30 seconds-1 minute) featuring: A variety of ballet exercises in center, across the floor, or a ballet combination showcasing abilities in turns, leaps, and/or petite allegro. A variety of modern combinations showcasing traveling through space, jumps, turns, use of torso (not upright), and/or floorwork. A variety of jazz combinations showcasing isolations, turns, jumps, and clarity of movement. Alternative Option - students can submit a fourth solo in any genre, whether it be a cultural dance form, hiphop, tap, or other. Students must submit three choreographed pieces. One of these pieces must be performed by the student choreographer as well. The style and genre of these pieces can be up to the student, but must show three separate styles.

Online BFA Performance

Online Auditions: All online auditions require an online interview. After the submission of your movement videos, you will be contacted by the dance program coordinator to schedule a day and time for your interview. Online BFA Performance Requirements: Student must submit three out of four demonstrations (1.5 minutes) featuring: A variety of ballet exercises in center, across the floor, or a ballet combination showcasing abilities in turns, leaps, and/or petite allegro. A variety of modern combinations showcasing traveling through space, jumps, turns, use of torso (not upright), and/or floorwork. A variety of jazz combinations showcasing isolations, turns, jumps, and clarity of movement. Alternative Option - students can submit a fourth solo in any genre, whether it be a cultural dance form, hiphop, tap, or other.

Minor in Dance

The Dance Minor curriculum offers a variety of technique courses as well as academic courses that potentially enhance regular study in your intended major. While a dance minor does not require an audition, students must successfully complete the Experiencing Dance & Performance course with a 3.0 or higher and be approved by the department coordinator to declare a dance minor.

Experiencing Dance & Performance

The Dance Minor curriculum offers a variety of technique courses as well as academic courses that potentially enhance regular study in your intended major. While a dance minor does not require an audition, students must successfully complete the Experiencing Dance & Performance course with a 3.0 or higher and be approved by the department coordinator to declare a dance minor.
