Susan Causey's School of Dance, located in Charleston, South Carolina, has been a cornerstone of dance education for over 45 years, fostering grace, self-esteem, and exceptional performance skills. Founded with a vision to nurture young dancers, the studio offers a comprehensive dance education for students from 3K through 12th grade. We provide a strong foundation in core genres including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Lyrical, with specialized training available for advanced dancers. Our curriculum progresses from foundational styles like Tap and Ballet for preschoolers, to Tap/Jazz combinations for elementary and middle school, and further development in Tap and Jazz for 7th through 12th graders. Beyond these styles, we also proudly offer Aerial and Contemporary classes, providing avenues for diverse artistic expression. Our dedicated team of expert instructors is passionate about their craft. Among them are former students like Kayla Hull, who continues to be active in aerial arts and jazz, Emily Estaban with nearly two decades of experience and collegiate dance team captaincy, and Elizabeth Sprouse, Anna Pearl Watford, and Kennedy Collie, who have grown up dancing at SCSOD and now enthusiastically teach younger students. We emphasize technique and alignment in a nurturing environment, preparing students for stellar performances. This includes a much-anticipated annual spring recital, open to the public, where students showcase their developed skills. Susan Causey's School of Dance is more than just a place to learn steps; it's a community dedicated to cultivating a deep appreciation and understanding of dance as an art form, empowering students and shaping them into confident role models.
