Classes

Modern I

In this class students will learn fundamentals of the Graham technique. Starting with contractions and releases in floor work and progressing to center and traveling moves. Modern compliments all other dance forms and grows students through freedom of movement.

Ballet II

Dancers will build a strong foundation learning barre work as well as center and across the floor combinations. The students will also begin learning ballet vocabulary.

Teen/Adult Ballet

This is a beginner class where all levels are welcome, and no experience is needed. Ballet fundamentals will be taught focusing on technique, artistry, and increasing strength and stamina. In this class barre work will be done followed by center and moving across the floor with an emphasis on mastering each movement. Beginner teens are also welcome to join this class.

Lyrical

Dancers will learn how to really feel the lyrics of different songs as they dance. Lyrical is a combination of ballet and jazz movements, usually working with a slower song that has lots of emotion. Dancers will learn how to express those emotions through different movements and facial expressions.

Pointe I & II

Pointe students are required to be enrolled in Ballet IV or Ballet V. We currently offer 2 levels for pointe and they meet 1x a week.

Ballet 1

Similar to the same format as Pre-Ballet but we begin incorporating some barre work as well as across the floor combinations with more challenging dance steps. We also incorporate creative movement and fun ballet activities.

Modern II

Students will progress building off Graham fundamentals and advancing to more challenging traveling sequences. Students will build strength using their entire bodies to seamlessly connect movements and go from one level to another. This class is for students who have completed Modern I and/or approved by Ms. Rachel.
