Ballet C & D

Ballet C is a graded class following a syllabus that is structured for upper intermediate dancers. Participants should have a solid understanding of basic ballet barre and center skills with the ability to execute proficiently. Drill work becomes more rigorous, and combinations become more challenging both physically and mentally. An emphasis is placed on musicality and artistry as well as technical execution. Pointe dancers are required to take specific pointe classes in addition to regular technique classes. Ballet D and Advanced Ballet classes require students to have a complete knowledge of ballet foundations. Understanding terminology as well as execution are a must. Dancers will work with a variety of instructors from various backgrounds including, Russian, Cecchetti, and French schools of dance. Classes will consist of a complete ballet barre and center work. Musicality and artistry will be emphasized.

Ballet B/BII

This is a graded class that follows a syllabus to assure dancers master required skills. This Ballet class is for intermediate dancers ages 9-13 (depending on skill level), but the criteria to advance to the next level is mastering required skills. In the graded program, dancers will focus on barre work, developing strong foundational skills and adding to their ballet vocabulary. Center work will encompass center exercises as well as progressions across the floor. The drill work will begin to combine skills to develop sequences of movement preparing the dancers for more advanced work. A continued emphasis on core strength and stretching will ensure the dancers can execute the required skills and be prepared for advancement. Dancers also begin to work more deeply on musicality at this level. Dancers are typically in the B levels for 2-3 years each. Additional classes the dancers can take include: Modern, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Acro, & Hip Hop. We also invite dancers to audition for Ballet Gloria, the non profit faith based dance company housed at TCFA.

Ballet AI/AII

This is a graded class that follows a syllabus to assure dancers master required skills. It is for dancers 7-9 years old, but the criteria to advance to the next level is mastering required skills more than age. In the graded program, dancers will focus on barre work, developing solid foundational skills to progress through center work with ease. There is a focus on body alignment, proper technique, carriage of arms, and terminology. Center work focuses on bringing the skills from barre to center, balance, fine and gross motor skills, and using repetition to solidify the skills. A deeper emphasis on core strength and stretching begins at this level as well. Dancers begin in the AI level, and typically progress to the AII level after 2-3 years. Dancers in the A levels can also choose to take Jazz I/II, Tap I/II, Modern I/II, Lyrical I/II, Contemporary I/II, and Hip Hop. We also invite dancers to audition for Ballet Gloria, the non profit faith based dance company housed at TCFA, at age 7.

Ballet/Tap Combination Class

This a combination class for 5-6 year old dancers. A stronger emphasis is put on terminology, fine and gross motor skills, proper positions of the arms and legs, stretching & strength, and more complicated movement patterns. In tap, fine motor skills are further developed, as well as strong musical counting skills.
